Years ago I did eat a piece of dry cat food, it was so long ago that I don't remember how it tasted but I won't try it again.  I would never, ever eat canned cat food

I've tried a pinky full of a couple of Harley's (up there in the corner) fancy feast flavors. I cannot say I recommend them

People DO eat cat food. . .poor people, homeless people, people who spend all their money on cat food instead of human food :tongue2:. I believe there's even some blogger who can afford human-grade tuna perfectly fine but she buys tuna cat food instead because it's cheaper, and feeds that to her husband and children . So it doesn't make people sick, whether they want to call it "fit for human consumption" or not. But eww. I would have to have fallen on very hard times to even consider it. I won't eat Spam either ;).

Gosh, I never would.  Even the best quality ones have an odor which I find personally unappealing as far as my own consumption is concerned.  As others mentioned, there are some brands that look exactly like good quality chicken, like Tiki Cat.  Yet, I'd be hard pressed to taste it that either.

I'll stick to Bumblebee, thanks

MingKing...pred tastes like quinine (sp?). Which is kind of metallic. Even little pills are horrid...especially if you don't drink enough and they get stuck !
Thankfully for the kitties they can now compound a liquid with a tasty flavor.[emoji]9786[/emoji]

I'm only just getting over my aversion to getting cat food on my fingers, so eating it is a long way off! :lol3:

Some of it does smell really good though. Like a stew or casserole. There was a scene in The Walking Dead where they're starving and Carl finds a can of dog food. They would've eaten it but Rick kicks it away in disgust. I'm like "As if! You'd be all over that if you're starving!" I could see myself eating cat food if I had to.

As far as I know in the UK pet food must legally be fit for human consumption (unless a kid gets it or something) but that was a while ago I don't know for certain. I haven't found any food I'd want to eat but I did try the cat milk because I wondered how much like normal milk it tasted (our cats previous owners gave the cat regular milk often but obviously I didn't continue that!).

It was pretty gross and tasted more like cream.

I'm vegetarian, so I was squicked out by getting cat food on my fingers for a while, as well.

I have never actually eaten cat food, but once I tried some dry food, but spit it out. I guess it tastes pretty good to them but not to people.

Oh my goodness! I thought I was the only one who ever ate cat food as a little kid!!! lololol
I had never seen that youtube video before it was hilarious! When I was younger I did it the dry cat food for reason but my family always bought the most organic type of cat food they could find same thing for our dogs and even out little turtle always had freshly grown in our back yard type of food or at least the best we could find. I had a cat live to 23 almost 24 years old because of the care we and I, once I took her with me on my travels, gave her
Toward the end of her time here on earth the vet was amazed at how healthy she was despite her age and even had all of her teeth. The only thing that had started around age of 22 or so was cataracts in her eyes. I remember the vet actually sitting me down and helping her with her dissertation about ageing of female cats who were neutered with no litter of kitten vs had have at least 1 litter of kitten before being neutered. Mine had had 1 littler before she had been neutered
Oh and as I was watching that youtube this popped up! lol

There are so many cute and weird things on youtube I swear! I voted cat obviously lol!
