Rapid breathing in cat after bug spray....

Today my sister was spraying bug spray in the house, she does this twice a year. She only sprays around the walls and not directly where my cat lays. My cat has never had a problem before, but I was watching her today and noticed that I can see her belly moving when she breathes, I don’t know if she does this normally as I haven’t noticed it before. Should I be concerned?

She’s playing and eating like normal, the only thing I see different is that I can see her breathing. Its 12pm and i have allergies from the spray and am desperate to sleep. But i am concerned for my cat. Should i take her to the vet? Can it wait until morning? Please advise.

Shes doing fine. I contacted my vet that night and they told me to keep an eye on her and if her breathing didnt improve the next day to take her in. Thankfully the next morning her breathing was back to normal. Shes eating fine and exercising.

I hope she is o.k. too. I would say that in the past you have been lucky to say the least. Chemicals, especially bug sprays should NEVER be sprayed in a home with animals. It's not safe at all. It doesn't matter that it's not near the cats. The fumes & residue can still harm them. I'm not trying to be harsh, just very clear for safety reasons. I hope you understand. 

I hope you took her to the vets, just to be on the safe side. 

There are alternatives that can be used. You can look up threads on here for more info. I know there have been discussions about it. 

I remember some saying the only safe thing to use is food grade Demachous (sp?) Earth.
