There is much confusion on my part as to what this little lady is. When she was first born I thought Tabby, but now her ginger is showing through I'm not so sure.

Hoping someone here with more knowledge can shed some light on this dilema

I am a Fosterer for Cats Protection, she was born in my care to a ginger & white tabby Mum, she has 2 brothers one is ginger tabby & white the other all ginger tabby

I would say that's torbie, although I'm hardly an expert.  You get a tortie when you have variations of red and black, clearly evident here.  She also appears to have tabby markings that are not just in the red.  That would make for a torbie.

She reminds me of what Amber looked like, and once I learned the term I figured she was torbie as well.  Here's a pic from a few months before her passing.  Only a little tiny bit of white, on the chin and neck there:

Thank you for the confirmation.

Torby/Torbie she is then

2bcat, Amber was a beautiful cat.

Perhaps the word Torbie is fairly new, but as we can see from Amber's picture the colouring has been around for a very long time.

Mum being a ginger proves this baby has to be 100% torbie. The mother could only ever breed torbie/tortie girls no other colour and only ginger boys too :)
