Can you give us some more information? How old is the kitten? Do you have pictures to show us exactly what is wrong with his legs or feet? Have you taken him to a vet to get a diagnosis and suggestions for how to treat him?

You are scaring me with that tape!  Kittens start out with kind of froggy legs, and need to grow and strengthen them!  As the legs grow, they will become little sturdy kitten legs. If truly you think there is some deformity, then I advise you to take the kitten to a vet!  You could some real harm to the kitten playing doctor!

Sorry to scare but just to let u know I would never harm any animal, and I have raised many kittens, puppies , and ferrets in my day, and watched my parents do it also, also I have paid and watched others pay a lot of $$$ that they didn't have when could of got advice from someone who just had experience ,and I've searched the web and found that this so called frog-legged kittens are more common than you think and seen pictures on youtube where they taped thier legs to keep them from splaying out when they walked and it helped. The busies feet in like a week, you if found the cat I have astray and she would only come to me took her home and she was with babies she got so fat, on May1,2015 she woke me up for her to give birth to 6 beautiful babies and the runt which I am always partial to I noticed that while his litter mates were starting to stand and walk he was dragging his hind feet and they where splayed out like a frog, I massage them every chance I get and he loves it, so I just want him to not have any prob walking . If it doesn't get better within a week or I can't help him I will go to vet if needed....:lol3:
Thank you and God Bless :rbheart:

So the kitten is only 2 weeks old, and is just barely learning to walk.  You might give it a couple more weeks due to its' small size being the runt. I have seen on this site that someone was doing a light physical therapy, maybe to sort of strengthen the little legs. My little guy Koi was found abandoned near my vet's office. He is very small cat, and what I estimated to be maybe 3 weeks old, the vet techs thinking about 4 weeks. Thinking back, they were probably correct. He had a hard time trying to get his walking up to par. He is 3 years old now, and gets around just fine, normal. He does walk with a little swagger! He also seems unable to grasp toys or what ever he tries to grab, more so with his front paws. Almost like there could be a little kink in his legs. I wish I had realized more at the beginning, as I would have possibly worked with him. Also, that wasn't as prevalent as your situation, as nothing was dragging. I do think your little guy might need more time to grow and strengthen. Are you able to talk to your parents about their Ideas? Also, I don't quite understand how or what you were going to tape.(although I see where you are kind of going with this theory) You might call a vet and just ask a few questions regarding development, or if this is just normal.  Kittens do kind of crawl at first when getting around, and he might  be a little developmentally delayed!  Good luck!  But please no taping until you get a professional opinion!

okI briefly scanned a few videos. The kittens look MUCH OLDER like 4-5 weeks. The bracing looks a little tricky to me. How do you know how tight, how far apart etc. I saw an old thread from 2009 on this site, and it seems that the kittens outgrew this. Now, if it was twisted leg syndrome, I would be worried, and seek vet advice and apt ASAP. I think the massage that you are doing right now might be just the very thing that others have done.

See! His little frog legs are getting strength, and I think your little physical therapy sessions are paying off! Good job!

I was recently taking care of a litter of four kittens, one of which had splayed legs and trouble walking at first. However, with lots of playtime the kittens legs got stronger until she was running, jumping, and climbing. She was always a step behind her siblings athletically, but by 6-7 weeks you would have never known she was once 'gimpy'. So it may just take time and exercise.
