Can you take her to a vet who will give you terramycin?

and i have a question, we got this eye wash from a vet. they said she shouldnt use antibiotics, but is terramycin counted as antibiotic, as its only a cream? I mean you say you use that on newborns safely, so it must be safe then, no?

however, I'll post a picture of it and you'll tell me if i should change or use this? because really, i dont think an eye washer will help to infection. im posting ingredients from package too. so any ideas why this vets are so determined on non antibiotics use?
Terramycin is an antybiotic yes, but as its in a cream, it hasnt the same negative bi-effects as antibiotics taken orally, whom also may damage some of the useful bacterias in intestines.

Yes, terramycisn is oftne used on such gloopy kitten eyes, with good results, and no harm done.

also i wanted to ask about her sound. last 1 day her voice when she meows a bit more silent its like its raspy voice and i wonder, if its cause of milk maybe? cause she drank 10ml quite a few times now in one batch and i think in that time when she drinks its a bit cold already. so is that bad, should milk always be warm? anbd could it be cause of it?

teh milk being body temp it to not chill her out...  But I dont dont believe it would be SO cold as to harm her voice, unless its middle of the winter at your place, and minus grades inside...   :)

The coldness of the milk shouldn't cause a raspy meow but let's ask @StefanZ and @catwoman707 try to feed as warm of milk as possible if it is the same feeding it shouldn't have gotten to cold unless It is a long time from the start of the feeding until you finish.

@kstonya and @stefanZ no its summer here =) and why this voice suddenly then? i hope she's fine

we got terramycin AT LAST. after runs around and idiot vets not wanting to give, we got it from pharmacy where other vet sent us.

plus we got Tobrex. I dont know how known it is to use? but he said clean eye then use them drop 2 times a day 2 drops. but we did 1 drop and put cream now. I think its better to use less Tobrex as its not so known on use on kittens?

Her voice may be due to cold milk, just to confirm though, you do NOT hear any congested sounds, clicking, or any other sounds when she breathes correct?

To keep the milk warmed during feeding, I will have a coffee mug with very hot water near me and drop the bottle or syringe in to it now and then and let it rewarm a bit.

Cooled milk will also cause a very gassy tummy.

It's pretty important to be sure not only the milk is good and warm, but her body temp as well, when you feel her paws, do they feel the same temp as your hands or a bit cooler?

The correct temp for her to properly digest milk is when she feels the same temp as you, if you were to put her to your neck or chest. She should not feel cooler.

Tobrex drops is fine, this is an eye drop antibiotic, 1 drop in each eye, twice a day.

The terramycin you found, is it in a very small tube? An ointment? Blue/white?

The eye wash you posted I am not sure about, I see in the ingredients it has chlorhexidine, which is a great cleaning solution for animals, but not so sure about washing her eyes with it since she is so young.

I use chlorhexidine for topical wounds, never have used it in eyes.

Tobrex or terramycin, I would not use both together. The reason is because one may deactivate the other. If the terramycin is a small ointment tube, can you post a pic to confirm it?

Heres photos of it

However we put one drop of this tobrex and smeared one drop of terramycin. Now her eye looks wet all time. And shes acting weird today. Like shes just looking up and wobbling and looking in empty then going to her bear to sleep. And this voice is disturbing me when she meows with low voice its like cracking meow. I took viseo but i dont know if i can post here?

But when she breathes theres no weird sounds. Shes just purring.

When i try her paws usually theyre a bit cold but her body and ears are warm

Yes i didnt want to use both together too. Well just use terramycin from tonorrow. And you said put in each eye. But other eye is fine. Im just putting in infected one, no?

I'm concerned she may have pneumonia.

Is she still eating well today?

The way her appetite has been, it will be a red flag if she suddenly has no interest in eating.

Okay so she's eating well still.

Good!

Terramycin is the one I was talking about, this will take care of the infected eye.

It's so contagious I generally put it in both eyes because it will usually sptread to the clear eye anyway. So it prevents the good eye getting infected.

As I said though, do not apply it right from the tube, squirt it on something then swipe it up with your finger.

so i made her pee but she wont stop screaming at fences and pushing her head out. she wants to drink more. and she gained weight. in last few days she wasnt gaining more than 6 or so, but then after feeding her more yesterday she got from 239 to 255g today

So you suggest i start putting in other eye too? I didn't want because i thougt maybe ill make her other eye bad like that

We put from tube like i squeezed like 3mm inside her open eye. Because vet said put it inside the eye. So if i put on my finger how ill put inside her eye? I fear a bit i may hurt her eye rubbing it over her eyeball

If you have already put it directly from the tube to her eye, then do not use it for her other eye, only unless it starts showing infection signs later.

She does have a very nice weight gain!

What do you mean fences? Cage?

Yes i was thinking to do it like this before too. And its okay i do from tube like i did too, right? To not directly touch her eye

By fences i mean transporter door. Its where her nest is for now because she climbed all the boxes in 1st days we put her there

Yes it's fine. I used to do it that way too but without intending to, occasionally the tube tip might touch her eyelid or something and contaminate the tube, also it keeps squirting out of the tube and wastes alot.

No, just swipe it up on your fingertip, hold by scruff of neck and pull back, which makes the eye open enough to gently swipe your fingertip across the open eye.

No harm done.
