Cat that drools will be worse for allergy sufferers?

Hi,

I'm considering adopting a Russian Blue that does have a tendency to drool I'm told. I'm trying to minimize the effects my cat will have on my sister who occasionally visits for a few days and is mildly alergic to cats.  Since the component that humans are allergic to comes from the saliva, I assume a cat that tends to drool if anything is going to be worse for someone with allergies?

I'm not totally clear if it's more of an issue with the saliva drying and geting into the air, than direct contact with the saliva.

thanks for your feedback.

I don't know about drooling, but being licked by an unfamiliar cat can cause mild allergy symptoms for me unless I wash it off right away. My own cats don't cause this problem because, I believe, my immune system is used to them and no longer reacts.

I do think it's more of an issue with direct contact. Fur (which has the cat's saliva on it) can float through the air and end up pretty much anywhere, making contact hard to avoid.
