So before I begin I would like to state I'm not 100% certain this is the right section of the forums for this topic, so if it isn't I'm sorry.

Recently I've noticed Gir, a Mackerel Tabby, has been getting more potent fishy breath, especially during or just after playing really roughly, be it with one of his toys or he and I rough housing. Mind you, he has always had somewhat fishy breath, it just seems like after these play sessions it's more noticeable, but returns to normal soon after. It doesn't smell like rancid fish, just fishy.

Is this something I should be concerned about? Also Gir is my first cat so still a little new to the raising the cat field.

Thanks for your time.

One of my cats has really bad breath and it's because of his teeth. He's always had bad teeth, ever since he was a kitten, and has had to have two extractions. His gums get infected too. So my suspicion is that your cat likely has a problem with his teeth/gums. Has he been vet checked? They'll look at his teeth in an examination.
