This is my Kaylee. She just recently turned 2 in April. When I took her and her sister to the vet last week, they found something wrong with her heart. After a gazillion tests they diagnosed her with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. They gave her 2.5mg of Enalapril for daily take and they gave me pamphlets and information and they said they caught it early but I just worry. She's my baby you know? She hasn't shown any symptoms, and I just...I just want her to live a long good life. Does anyone have advice?

I'm so sorry your little one got diagnosed with this.  It's awful anytime one of our furbabies has anything that is beyond our control.  I've got one who has kidney disease, so I know what you're feeling.  At least Kaylee's issue was caught early, and now she's being medicated for it, right?

What did the Vet say was her prognosis?  I honestly don't know too much about HCM, but do  know we have members who have or have had cats with it.  One of our Moderators had a cat with HCM, however, she's out until next week.

Let's hope now that I've bumped this thread back up, others with experience in this area will see it and post to it.    In the meantime, here is a thread that is pretty old, but it talks about cats with HCM and how they did:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/131543/hcm
