My fiances cat had kittens and she let all of them die but I was able to take one in. Lately this little guys anus is swollen and a little blood comes out when it poops and its almost yellow. I figured it was from straining or something. Its only like a week old if that. I will be getting it seen real soon but I don't like to wait and take chances. I think its loosing weight so I'll be feeding it every two hours instead of four. I read somewhere else someone was having the same problem but theirs was sneezing and all. Mine is just the swelling and alittke blood besides that he seems ok

So the kitten is on your care?  practically an orphan?

its the poo which is yellow?  What consistence?

If hard, he is constipated.

If the poo is yellow it sounds normal.  And the blood isnt from inside, its apparently at the anus.

Wat  kmr do you give, exactly?   Do you have access to other kmr, or goat milk too?

Proceeding soon in next post.

To know if they gain or not, the best and easiest is to weigh them at least every day, but when in crisis, every 12 hours.   Use a scale electronic, best measuring in grammes.  Borrow one from a neigbour if you dont have.

He does have a warmt source, like a heating pad on low setting?

You do stimulate him after feedings?

OK, here is a tip for difficlt cases, using warm running water.

You held the kitten in left hand, on is backside, rear end out.  In under warm running water, not too hot, but more than lukewarm to you (ie about 40C, or 102-3 F.

And you tap with your forefinger on is private parts, behind and genitalia...   It both stimulates and washes.   No problems with irritaded skin.

Be sure there is no draugh, nice warm and cozy.  Dry off thoroughly and let im rest on a heat pad on low setting.

Use fleece in te bedding, it feels like moms fur.  You can also have an stufffed animal with him.  Or make an, with fleece.  and perhaps place for a warm rice bag inside.

Yes, please feed every 2 hours not four. How much is the kitten eating at each feeding?
