Hi, there was a cat I saw in the neighborhood, she was pregnant. But one night I heard a car hitting something outside when I was going out. Well it was this cat. I found out she had the babies. Next day I found the babies in an abandoned house. So I have been feeding them since then. I took them to the bet. And she said they were ok. Well there were 6 and 3 died since then. I don't understand what is happening. She dewormed them. Help please

Aha, the vet said they were OK, but still 3 of 6 died?

Please describe more how it happened.   And when?

The 3 alive, are they well, or are they in a emergency at this moment?

WHAT kmr do you use, exactly?

Tx for caring for the little ones!

Good luck!

So the mama cat was killed? And do you now have the babies with you at your house? How and what have you been feeding them? How often? Are you pottying them? Are they staying warm?

Answers to these and Stefan's questions will allow us to give you very specific advise to try and save these remaining 3 kittens.

I have been feeded them every 3 hours so far, they are warm now, at the begining I noticed that the room  I had them was not really warm so I moved them to mine.I live in the south of texas the weater here is not cold these days and my IC unit is on 78 to help them. My primary concern is that anotherone seems sick , I don't want her to die... I feel so frustrated because I really want them to survive. they were like 6 days old when I found them. I have been feeded them with a milk replacer enriched with colostrum formula, i even put some pedialyte instead of water. WHAT I'M I DOING WRONG?

this laast one has a litle rach in her part. the vet told me to put her some neosporin and I'm tring to keep her clean with warm water and wipes

Have they gained any weight can you tell? Do you have a kitchen scale to weigh them? How much are they eating at each feeding?

Please do not blame yourself. They may have infections. I am also wondering what worm medicine the vet used on such young kittens. Worming is not generally done at such a young age. Do you know the name of the medicine the vet used?

Also, do you potty the kittens after each feeding?

I don't know what she used, she calculated their age as 2 weeks and half, because I had them for 2 when I went. and yes I have been helped them after they ate. but some times they don't do anything after eating. I have been'tt weight them but they seem biger than when I found them. the thing is they look ok and healthy, then just like nothing I noticed something wrong, like without energy and they don't pass the night.. it is really scarry

It sounds like they are eating well. Try to put drops of pedialyte (clear, no flavor) in the side of the mouth of the sick one.

It's good to throw out the leftovers in each bottle, and wash the nipple between kittens.

I know it's hard. I pray the little one makes it through the night too.

They may benefit from antibiotics. Can you get them to the vet tomorrow?

As I understand it, you are doing not only all right, but even excellently.  I would give you a very high mark if  I were your teacher.   A natural.

But I agree with you.  Even seemingly small details may be very decisive in the long run, so being exact both in the doing, and telling what you you do, is important...

Holding thumbs!

Having them in a room of 78F  should be enough,  but still it is wise to have access to a warming source, if they want.  For the sick one, keeping her at your chest, the kangaroo method, is quite effective -  I do advise it at this moment.

A fleece bedding is also good to use, feels like moms fur.  This will not help any medical problems, but it will help to make the survival will stronger...

:vibes: Good luck with the kittens! :vibes:

A few years ago we found two feral kittens, tried to take care of them and make them our own mouse-catching outdoor kitties. I had no idea what I was doing. A few weeks later, we came back from co-op (i'm homeschooled, co-op is like a once-a-week homeschool family school), the smaller one was sick. We tried to take care of her, she still was doing horrible when we found the other one collapsed where we could barely reach her, we took her inside, had her laying in a basket to warm up. I thought she was dead. Both of them appeared to spring back somewhat but after a few days we had to put tiger (the smaller one) outside because she was just doing to badly and the kittens were taxing my mom too much. A few days later, Ratchet the other kitten died in my mom's arms.
I have a feeling you're going to do better than me. Way better.

Again good luck :vibes: :vibes:
