Good morning!
And Happy Friday!
I just want to get home and start the weekend.

How do you dry your laundry? Do you have a clothesline outside? Do you use a dryer? Maybe a line in your basement?

We have a clothesline up at the end of our property. We put it in years ago and now the Colorado blue spruce trees that we planted have grown into the lines. We're thinking of removing the poles and locating them closer to the house (we just don't know exactly where)....I'd use the clothesline often, esp during the summer, if we had a good one. My mother and my MIL both used an outdoor clothesline until they got to the point where they physically could not handle a heavy basket of laundry. We have clothesline in the basement, but I don't use it at all.

I use the electric dryer for laundry. Things like sweaters and such that have to lay flat to dry, I'll usually place on bathtowels on top of the freezer and the dryer. I sure wish we could get those clothesline poles re-located.

Wonderfully hot Friday here!
I use a couple of fold-out laundry dryers all the time. I would put my clothes outside, but a friend used to do that and had an embarrassing incident involving her undies and the elderly man nextdoor, so I prefer to dry them inside! I rarely use the dryer, just for towels & sheets, and if I need something to dry quickly. I think the dryer wears out your clothes faster. I also use the gentle cycle and cold water for most of my loads.

Only use a dryer. I don't have anywhere to put a clothes line. We don't have a backyard, we live on a corner and just have some grass at the side and back of the house.

I just read a thing saying that a really high percentage of Americans with washing machines also have dryers (93%? or something like that) but most Europeans and Asians with washers do not have dryers. So I imagine a lot of the answers will depend on where the person lives!

In town I don't have a clothesline. I machine dry most things but I do hang my jeans to dry because the dryer shrinks and fades them. The acreage does have clothesline poles, and I just strung 2 lines last week, I need to get more line for the 3rd part. I don't know how often I'll use it but it will be nice to have the option.

I have both a clothesline and a dryer. I love drying my towels and sheets outside on the clothes line when weather permits. I also hang out my jeans and shirts when I have time.

Since I have started my second job I don't get home until late at night so I have been drying mostly using the dryer.

I now have an outside dog so he is able to get to the line and I can't hang them out until I get him a place away from the clothesline. I love the smell of line dried clothes.

I mostly use the dryer. There's some articles of clothes that I won't put in the dryer. Depends on how many I have that needs to dry, I'd usually hang them over the curtain rod over the tub, or I'll pull out my collapsable drying rack if there's more than 2 pieces.

In the winter I use the dryer, but in the summer I like to hang what I can outside. (Towels are always in the dryer) I hang jeans out for a while and finish them off in the dryer so they aren't so stiff, same with clothes that wrinkles easily. I LOVE sheets hung outside.
The only thing that is bad is that in the summer a lot of people are using their grills and I really don't like all my clothes smelling like smoke, and our nearest neighbors are a block away!

Underwear gets hung in the middle with towels, shirts, etc on the outer lines. My parents only use the outdoor clothes line and several drying racks during the summer.

I live in a condo so can't hang anything outside, not that I even have a balcony. I use the dryer for most things. My work clothes and "good" clothes get hung up in the closet to dry and on over-the-door hooks, even doorknobs. Sometimes I use the shower curtain rod as well. I also have two drying racks to lay damp items on to dry (and the cats use the racks as hammock even though they have their own hammock
)

Many years ago when the kids were little I'd hang clothes out to dry.  One summer I got a refund on our gas bill.  That was nice.  The years went by and things got busy.  My husband doesn't like using the clothesline, and I really appreciate the help with the laundry, so we only use the dryer.

My MIL has one.  And it is the only thing she uses.  It is kind of a pain, we go out there to visit and nobody wants to do laundry.

I use the electric dryer all of the time.  To be honest, I'm just too lazy to hang the clothes on a line

I take everything to the laundrette once a week and put it through one of those big washer~driers. I have a washing machine, but the water pressure in the laundry room (Shed) just isn't strong enough and the clothes don't get rinsed properly. I think it would take ages for anything to line dry here, I'm in the middle of a forest so even hot days are really shady.

I wish I had a basement to put a line up for drying! I use a wooden collapsible rack that we keep in the shower stall of our 2nd bathroom. I keep some hangers in there on the rod for things too. If its a heavy laundry week I set up a baby gate to drape a few things too. (Plus Mooch likes to climb the rack!)

Towels, sheets, kids clothing and things go in the dryer. My shirts, pants and some pajamas need air drying; I cant have them shrinking. DH likes his shirts air dryed as well. And some pants. He is tall; so things end up being like high-waters and belly shirts. ;) lol

I do my laundry at mom's house--it's bonding time and saves me money.  We put things in the dryer to fluff and then hang outside, except in the dead of winter when we need them to dry faster--then we hang them around the house!!

When we lived at my inlaw's farm, we had to redo a few of loads of laundry thanks to the neighbouring farmer spreading pig poo on his fields! OMG, that stuff is nasty. It stinks for miles around and seeps right into your clothes. :nausea:

My parents line dry outside in good weather, inside in the laundry room otherwise. I line dry on a clothes rack inside my apartment. I think in my 25 years, I've used a dryer 3 times. I much prefer line drying outside back home. Everything smells so fresh and crisp when it comes in, and I like that way more than any dryer sheet.

I have to put a drying rack up in the living room.  We have no laundry room, only a nook.  When it's nice out we stick the rack outside.

I have one that climbs the rack too, Samwise does it all the time.

I have outside lines and inside lines facing the open air. I never thought of a dryer until one day my washing machine broke down and I took my wash to my daughter who stuck it in the dryer and I was amazed at how much cat hair came off my clothes so I bought a dryer. Bras get hung inside as do my towels daily after my shower to air dry them. Towels get hung outside. I don't like soft towels. Everything else goes into the dryer.
