Has your cat(s) started throwing up more hair very recently?

Specifically, within the last few days?  Obi has been great the last couple of months, almost no hairballs.  Then in the last 3 4 days he has tossed some hair (not a lot) 3 times.  I realize it is shedding season.  I upped his EYL to three capsules a day but that has not made a huge difference so far - I dont think.  And it may be too much for him?

My kitties just in the last couple of days have started serious shedding that is probably what is going on.  I remember last year a lot of kitties were having more issues than usual.  I haven't had the hairballs yet I have just noticed a lot more hair on the floor and furniture the last couple of days.

I haven't heard of too much of the egg yolk lecithin.  I can't really say if that is possible or not hopefully someone with more experience with it can answer your question.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
"Too much" egg yolk lecithin = diarrhea. If three caps isnt helping, you need to try something else.

Tuxie has thrown up three large hairballs in the last five days. :( He's already getting two egg yolks a week, and now two capsules of EYL, and it isn't stopping his hairballs again this year! I've put him back on Vet's Best Hairball Relief formula. I like it because of the slippery elm bark, the marshmallow root - but the psyllium really bulks up his poop. Last year this combo helped, but for those with the worst problem, shaving their bellies was needed. And THAT helped a lot. So Tux may be off to the vet soon...

(My vet's theory on this is that they groom their tummies the most, because it's easiest to access. Just shaving their bellies last year made a HUGE difference).

Hi, LDG, no diarrhea here.  However, I did cut back to 2 capsules of the EYL a day.  I think that is sufficient.  I am not at all clear, however, how the Swanson's powdered EYL compares to raw yolk or some other brand.

Well I have to say that about two weeks ago and for about a week, Rube did throw up a hairball (small) almost every day. I had started trying to reduce his SEB from every day to 3 times a week and that would be NO. So with the SEB every day + EYL (1 capsule) + digestive enzymes + Proviable + 2 Vets's Best a day, he has stopped. And I FINALLY found a "brush" he loves so I bought two on Chewy.com and I cannot tell you how much hair I get off. He'll even roll over on his side and let me brush him for as long as I want. A MIRACLE! Here they are if anyone is interested.

Oh, cute, Mhpscat!  where did you get the brush?  I use a furminator on  mine - they tolerate it when they are eating but I dont think they love it...

My Pushy has been shedding like crazy too. He's also eating more grass and has thrown up quite a bit of that. We're having a minor heat wave here, so it's no surprise. I've actually started collecting his fur and I'm seeing how big the ball gets...
