We are taking Sterling in to get shaved after Christmas. He has terrible hair balls on his stomach. He won;t let me brish him on his tummy.
I have a few questions. What is that shampoo that is toxic/deadly to cats? I want to make sure the groomer knows not to use it on Sterling.
How much do you usually pay to groom a cat? They want $60.00 to do it.
Are thier different cuts for Persians? Different "hair styles" to choose from? LOL

WOW that sure is expensive for a cat . Did you check your vet if they have a groomer there maybe ? I go to my vet and they have a grommer there . I only pay $ 16.00 dollars the last time there for multy cat household . But normaly they charge only $ 30.00 dollars for a cat .

wow...$60! I really think that's excessive! Being from a small town, I only paid $26 dollars for Tiki last time. She has the same problem as Sterling...those nasty mats on her belly. They must hurt because she really puts up a fight when I try to comb them out. I'm really thinking about getting her shaved or at least her belly fur cut shorter than the rest. She might look fun though with just a shaved belly!

I honestly don't know if there are different types of cuts for Persians/Himmies...if you find out, would you be so kind to let me know too? The joys of having a Persian/Himmie!

Omg it does sound like they are charging too much for sterling's "haircut". The place I am taking him is the vet's groomer, they are located right next door to the vet. I will check around and see if there is a cheaper place to take him in my area. Thanks for the head's up

Does that $60 cover EVERYTHING? Hair, nails, expressing anal glands, teeth, extra pampering, a bow in his hair, etc. If he's asking $60, he better not only know to use the safe shampoo, but use a top of the line brand.
Or do they charge per tangled hairball?

Ha ha ha! Sounds like they are charging per hairball doesn't it! I will call and make sure of what they offer for that price. A bow would be cute-LOL! Sterling wouldn't like it too much though

I took Jake to Petsmart the first time (now I bathe and groom him myself). Anyway... he was bathed, brushed, blow dried and had his belly & groin shaved and it was $35. Oh, they also trimmed his nails. When I took Carmella to the groomer next to my vet it was only $42.
