(One of my favorite quotes from Sister Act)

Hello and hey there.  My name is Erin.  I'm from Phoenix and I have a 2 year old calico cat, named Melody.  She's my first rescue cat.  My older cat, Meeko, died of kidney failure in April, 2012.  I got her from a friend of a friend who's parents were moving out of state and couldn't keep the cat.  I've grown up with cats, but Meeko was my first cat.  Mom saw how lonely I was after I lost Meeko and volunteered to buy me a new "fur baby".  I decided to check out the humane society that is a few miles away.  I had a vision of a black and white female, preferably around a year.  Instead my eye kept being drawn to this beautiful shy calico.  I'd walk a few cages away and turn around and go look at the calico.  She was a hopeful heart, meaning she was half off.  Mom gave me the money and I took her home that day.  That was a year ago May 26.  Melody got her name because she popped up next to me the first night and purred her heart out.  Her records indicate that her birthday was the end of March, so this year, I decided that March 20 would be her birthday.  The top picture is Meeko the bottom is Melody

Oh what a sweet story.  I'm so sorry for your loss of Meeko--and so glad that Melody came into your life.  Sounds like you were meant for each other.

Welcome to TCS, and thank you for sharing the story of Meeko and Melody. Melody is very lucky and thankful to have found you, and I like to think that it's a way of honoring Meeko, by rescuing another cat and giving her the love you shown Meeko.
