We just got another 12" of snow. We now have a 2-3 feet of snow on the ground. The roads were a little better this morning going to work. Snow is forecasted for Friday and Sunday, so who knows how much snow we'll have when it is over. It is beautiful though.

My senior year of high school was in Lansing (Lansing Eastern - Class of '73). I was at Michigan State for 6 years (5 to get a degree, 1 post graduate.)

I love all your pictures keep them comming. Also the older pictures are great too
I have a TON of pictures. I've been trying to find time to update my web site (http://www.dogsled.net) but can't seem to get it done. There are a few pictures there, but I have LOTS more.

Hmmmm.... snow....

The only time I have ever been in snow was when I was 6. It snowed in South Africa on the 2nd September 1981 (1st September = Spring day here). I remember looking out the window and my gran saying it was snowing and I was like rubbish!

The next morning my brother and I were dressed up like little Michelin men and we went out to play in all of 10 cms of snow. I remember that we wanted to build a snowman and then it got too cold so we built a little pointed mound. And that, ladies and gentlemen was the sum total of our snow.

At the moment, in Johannesburg, there is a big heat wave. It has been consistently over 30 degrees celsius every day and NO NO rain. (For almost a month now). They are going to start putting water restrictions in place. My poor garden.

We got more snow last night and it's snowing again today. We've had more snow this December than I remember having in recent years. The snowflakes today are huge and fluffy. You could blow them off your car, however, it does make the roads slippery.

George - my best friend's father-in-law is a professor at Michigan State.

and here's friday:

roads fairly slippery, but at least the sidewalks are now plowed. They're predicting snow until next Monday.

I'll keep going until Sunday. If you guys want me to keep posting pictures after that, please let me know! I'm going to be crazy busy on Monday and Tuesday (the last desperate rush to get Buster and Fluffy groomed before Christmas), but it should be less hectic after that. Just as an example, I'm working 10 hours straight on Tuesday, 'cause the people at work forgot to give me a lunch break!

Here's Saturday (it's late, I know.) I took it on my way to work. Worked 'till 4, then I had the office Christmas party (WAY fun!!!) at 6:30. I didn't get home until midnight, and by then my brother, who'se bedroom contains the computer, was already asleep...

I noticed the stop sign was in french. Do you guys learn it at school? I know that Quebec was originally french. Is it a second official language there?

This was last March in Indiana. It was so cold that the snow was solid and I could not get it off my truck. I had hurt my back and had to go to PT and so I drove with that mess on top and let me tell you...it was very noticable when driving. Then sitting in the waiting room some man said "look at that idiot's Explorer" Well I smiled and asked him if he would clean it off for this idiot. That shut him up. And no...it eventually fell off while taking a turn. My truck sighed with relief.
This picture made it into our local newspaper.

actually, Français is the official language in Quebec. It's a very complicated recent law that obliges all signs to be in french, and if it's a bilingual sign, the french has to be on top and something like 3 times as big as the english... and you can get fines if you don't obey the "office de la langue francaise". Until a few years ago, stop signs were "arrêt/stop", but they had to get rid of the "stop" because people were concerned that Quebec was going to lose it's french...As for my speaking french, yes, I do. I work in a french-speaking vet clinic, and my father is francophone. I really had the best of both worlds growing up; my mother was (and still is) english, and my father was (and still is) french. (and now I'm learning Spanish!) I'm behind schedule with the pictures, I know. I'm uploading them, and posting them A.S.A.P.

Subee, that's quite the picture! There are a lot of people here that get the "essential" snow off their cars, and drive around with a 1/2 inch on the roof! And when you're stuck behind one of those people going down the highway, you get all the snow off their roof on your windshield! F-U-N.

Here's a cute pic of our cat, Elmo, being fascinated by the snowballs I'd been tossing at the window!
