The weather today is gorgeous, so we ate on the large patio of a restaurant. After we finished eating, we decided to hang out, enjoying the weather. I thought I heard a catbird crying. Nope! A beautiful, young, black cat was sitting on the low stone wall, meowing in a most demanding tone!  It made its rounds, I petted her several times, as did a lot of the other diners. One waitress sees her every night at that time, but thinks she belongs to a house across the street, but still feeds her. Kitty looks well-cared for, her fur is in top condition, and so soft. This cat is not stupid: it's a 4-star restaurant, and kitty gets fed leftovers of N.Y. strip steak, crab cakes, the best hamburgers in the area, etc. It was so funny to see a cat walking around a large groups of strangers, meowing in such a demanding way.

We'll keep an eye and an ear out for the kitty, just to make sure she's ok, and not really a stray.  We go to the restaurant every Saturday night, and know the waitstaff very well.  As I adore black cats, you can imagine that I was sorely tempted to bring #11 home...

Aww!  I hope she's well cared for, as well as being well fed.  But if not, I suspect she won't be homeless for long!

Aw, what's one more?
 She sounds like a beauty.
One more is what will drive me over the edge!
I don't need any more pets right now!

I know! I feel just right with six cats in the house. When we had seven, it unnerved me a little. With eight, I was very uncomfortable. I know how crazy that sounds, but we've had six cats for so long that it's nothing. Add another one or two in our small house and the whole dynamics change.
