I don't mind the snow or rain or even the sting from hail BUT I can not stand snee. It's a mix of snow + rain, and I am severely against it. Slushing and mushing all over, and how it instently wets then freezes you. Whichever deity created this horrid mess must have been an angery one? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I call that Snot. Because it's-not rain, but it's-not snow. (Say it fast, I swear it makes sense!) And I hate that stuff too. Actually, though, I think the worst thing is freezing drizzle or freezing fog. BAD experiences with that stuff in Nebraska driving in an old VW bug with no heat.

SNIZZLE, that is what our weather man calls it here. Sow and drizzle = snizzle. We are expecting ti tonight. Just got rid of the 7 inches of snow we had 3 nights ago.

Hugs,
Shirrell

I thought it was called sleet!?!? We had rain turn to sleet turn to snow last Friday night and we're expecting it again tonight (hey Shirrell I'm just about 3 hours north of you).

I HATE sleet (or snee, or snot or snizzle)......hey - do you realize that this could easily be turned into a Dr. Seuss book???

LOL

We called it a pain when we lived in Alaska. I will take hard rain any day!

One time when I was in high school I was going to school and was standing beside the road. and it had been snowing and the snow was a couple inches at least, anyway, it was all slushy. so a car came barreling by and I got splashed with dirty, black SNOT! I had to walk a few blocks to home and change and ended up going in late to school. talk about feeling dumb.

Right here! :)
I really don´t like that kind of weather either. I do like snow though, but when there has been a lot of snow (very very deep, last time we had that in this area was in early 2000), it terrible if it gets warm suddenly and a lot of rain, then all the deep snow gets mushy and wet and agh....

It´s funny you all have separate name for this
We also have a special word for this. We have so many words for different texture of snow and different ways of snowing, maybe that comes from living in Iceland :p
