I have been on a journey to be able to feed all 4 of my cats affordably, and preferably the same thing.
The two problem children: a male cat who absolutely needs wet food due to urinary problems, and a girl with food sensitivities (probably chicken-which is in everything )

So, today I thought I hit the jackpot. I picked up a pouch of wet Fancy Feast stuff that had no fillers no grains and no chicken. Plus, at the calorie count given, I wouldn't be spending any more on cat food than I already do. I might even save money!

I brought it home, thinking I had struck gold, but then came the "if it sounds too good to be true" reality. I missed the part that said it was for supplementary feeding. Curses! Foiled again! (Approx 500 calories for a supplement feeding?!?!)

Anyway, I started thinking. Looking at the ingredient lists, there's not much on the supplement list outside of vitamin E. Would it be possible to add other supplements to this to make it complete? I know that taurine would be needed, but what else?
Is this a feasible idea, or should I just find something else.

Currently they are eating canned Friskies turkey pate with extra water added. My biggest concern with it is my girl is still itchy, but not as much as with the other flavors that have higher chicken quantities. It also has brewers rice, but I consider that the least bothersome grain if they have to eat one.

Okay, the Fancy Feast broths in the little pouches aren't much, usually just a spoonful of meat and mostly broth. Can you give your kitty Zyrtec? I give half of one 10mg tablet twice daily, I split one of the 10mg Zyrtec tablets and give a half in the morning and a half in the evening for a total of 1 complete tablet. It has helped with my cat's allergies. Theirs is due to either dust or pollen. Others have posted that it helps with food allergies too. Are you sure it is a food allergy and not a flea allergy? I know how it is having cats with urinary issues. I am currently feeding Special Kitty, which is Walmart's store brand, Turkey and Giblets canned pate food. It is a decent food, with meat-by-products as the first ingredient instead of water, and all of my cats, 7 indoor and 24 outdoor colony have had no tummy upsets.

I didn't know cats could take human allergy pills! I may have to try that!

I hadn't opened one of the pouches until you posted that. Very disappointing. Correct calorie count or not, that's not enough food!

Yes, I had received a free sample and I was shocked myself at how little was actually in the pouch. Yes, please try the Zyrtec but not any other brand of allergy meds as I don't know about those. I use the actual Zyrtec no generics and they've done well.

I just went out and bought the Walmart brand of Zyrtec. We'll see how it works for her! And we'll stick with Friskies for now. I returned all of the Fancy Feast.

I've not used the walmart brand of Zyrtec, just Zrytec, could you list all the ingredients on the bottle/box and I can cross check it against the bottle of Zrytec I have?

I'm not sure what povidone is.  But it is very similar to actual brandname Zyrtec.

I would just find something else to feed other than the Fancy Feast Broths unless you want to go into homecooked diets and such. Have you tried Weruva or Soulistic or Tiki Cat? Those are chunks or shreds or meat (or fish) in gravy or jelly, very similar to Fancy Feast. Weruva's Cats In The Kitchen pouches are pretty much soup-like with mostly gravy so your cat may like that just as well as the Fancy Feast Broths Have you tried other varieties of Friskies pate? Some cats are senstive to poultry. Could you try a limited ingredient food such as Natural Balance or Nature's Variety?

I can't advise on the allergy medicine. Please ask your vet before using any OTC Human medicine. Human medicines may contain ingredients that are harmful to cats or the strength is too strong for a cat or, if is a medicine is ok to give to a cat, the cat dose would likely be a fraction of a typical Human dose.
