Hi Everyone

SO I have a situation with Xena.. DH left for a 10 day trip overseas to see his family today. We both walked out of the house this morning, and I took him to the airport. Since I got home (by myself), Xena has been laying in her daddy's recliner, and crying. She is also staring at the door and crying.. I can't help but think she is somehow grieving a loss.

What can I do to help her? (He will be back May 12...) and they are so attached to each other!!

Try giving her some unwashed item of his clothing to snuggle up to. Taking her mind off his absence with play (or even extra yummy food) may help too. Feliway diffusers are worth a try too. Hopefully she'll settle soon.

His unwashed work clothes are laying in his recliner for her, she has been laying on them but still seems very sad.

Hope she manages to settle more soon. Try telling her where he's gone and when he'll be home again. You never know - it might help.

wonder if she'd play if set aside a special time with her and you and maybe give her some catnip?

IMO, yes they do. Oliver was the little brother that Sammie never wanted. Two days after we put Oliver down, Sammie became concerned. He would look constantly out the windows. Check Olivers favorite spots. Not let the other cats in Olivers bed. He would sleep just outside my knee, Oliver would sleep between my knees. He even ran outside and checked in the garage. This tapered off after two weeks. The other cats missed him to a lesser extent. Even after two weeks, the wife an I would occasionally mess up and call Oliver. Often this would trigger the other cats to search for him.

They grieve and they also can suffer from separation anxiety.  If he calls you while he's gone, let her hear his voice.  If you can record it to play later, that might help her, too.  Leave some music on for her when you leave.  As someone else has mentioned, the unwashed clothes or even a towel might help.  Be sure she eats!
