Tramadol Dosage?

Hi All, I'm new here and have joined to ask a specific question. And one I hope has a simple answer!
I've just returned from the vet with my 13 year old cat, who has a 3 year history of dermatitis around his ears/face which has been tricky to diagnose.
A new vet has prescribed tramadol tablets that are supposedly 100mg per tablet. Surely this is a mistake or a typo? It's late evening here, so I can't call the vet to clarify. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure 100mg tramadol sounds very strong.
Thank you in advance.

Is there an out of hours vet service in your area you could phone, maybe one linked to your vet surgery?  Or possible to delay starting the medication until you can talk to your vet if it isn't an acute condition which has just started and needing emergency care?

It is difficult to give any medical prescription advice without knowledge of a condition and animal, and the risk of getting incorrect information which could harm your cat is high which is why this forum says in the rules that people should not give medical or dosage advice.   The most someone might be able to tell you is what their cat was prescribed but this would not tell you if the particular tamadol tablet you have for your cat, for your cat's condition is correct.

Thank you. Good advice. I'll definitely call the vet in the morning as he seems comfortable and quite happy at the moment. I'd just wondered if 100mg was even a possible dosage for a cat as I have less for back pain...!
Thank you for replying, I think it'll be OK to delay until tomorrow now.
