Are you sure this shes attacking and not trying to wean them? If that's not the cause than it's likely that they smell different to her now.

Agree about the smell. Hopefully she will accept them again as they regain their familiar smell to her. In the meantime, are you feeding the kittens their own diet of wet food and kitten chow? Sit on the floor and play with the kittens and let them crawl on you. Let mom see you interacting to help her remember they are hers. :)

Yes can you be specific about what the 'attacking' looks like?

Assuming it's a scent issue, the best thing is to do some scent swapping.  Rub a towel on mom and let her lay on it for a bit, then do the same to the kittens (with the same towel) and hopefully the issues will be eliminated. If she truly is attacking them, separate them to do this- kittens in one room, mom in another for a few hours.

Are they partly weaned? What are you feeding them?

Give it a day or two to see if she calms down. She may be going into heat again. Do you plan to have her spayed?

In the meantime, what are you feeding the kittens?

Can you tell us what exactly you mean by normal food? Do you live in the USA? I know in some countries this can be harder to find but in many countries including the USA there is cat food especially for kittens and they should definitely be eating that at this time... it has extra nutrients that they need.

I really hope you will reconsider getting her spayed.  This site is strongly pro spay/neuter for the reasons found in this article, among others: http://www.thecatsite.com/a/spay-and-neuter-your-cats

I hope you will consider reading the article and having her spayed ASAP- the kittens are probably old enough for it now, depending what your vet thinks.

Regarding what to do, stop letting her near the cage for now and move her and the kittens into entirely separate rooms where they cannot see each other.  Then do the scent swapping exercise I described above.  These articles might help explain more things you can do for scent swapping:

http://www.thecatsite.com/a/introducing-cats-to-cats

http://www.thecatsite.com/a/the-ultimate-yet-simplified-guide-to-introducing-cats

While I hope/think it is likely a complete re-introduction may not be necessary, if just scent swapping and some hours apart don't work you may have to do a complete reintroduction as outlined in those articles.  Are they entirely weaned? Are they all eating the normal food well?

Please have your cat spayed now. Otherwise she will breed and breed and breed, adding more and more fertile cats to the already over-populated environment. She will be unhealthy and miserable, and you will have too many kittens! They themselves need shots and care and spaying and neutering. It gets time-consuming and expensive. Have her spayed and keep her as a pet. Decide if you are keeping any of the kittens. If so, get them shots and fixed. You must find responsible homes for the others. Please let us know your plans. We want you to be a responsible pet owner and you probably want that too.
