My indoor cats used to get frontline but would get vomiting and bald spots from application site. I was given revolution but my cats got diarrhea and upset stomach for days after.

I had given an outside cat revolution and he developed a huge burn site and it hurt him!

Both cats seem to get fleas but the medications all cause side effects.

Is there an organic flea preventative that's safe?

Have you tried Advantage? It seems pretty mild. I've used it on ferrets, rabbits, and a pet rat. I've never had trouble with using it on cats either.

You could try diatomaceous earth. I'm not sure how effective it is ON the cats but you can sprinkle it around the house to get rid of the fleas before they get on the cat. It's safe for them to ingest, but be careful not to let them breathe it in too much. It's OK once it's settled on the floor but don't just throw it around so it causes a dust cloud. None of the other natural flea remedies seem to be safe for cats or effective.

I use Advantage too and my cats have never had trouble on it. I just use it in the late Spring to Fall as they go outside for walks, but the vet said it wasn't necessary in the Winter (and we've never had a flea problem).

Yes, dubbed Advantage Multi in the States, Advocate is a very effective topical parasiticide, although clinically I see more superficial local "itchy" reactions to this imidacloprid and moxidectin combo med, compared to less itchy reaction on Revolution (ingred salamectin), which covers the broad spectrum of parasites also.

By kicked off, is she overgrooming the site, rubbing with hindfeet, then licking her feet? It absorbs directly into the sebaceous layer of the skin, so she shouldn't be able to reach it with her tongue on her neck/shoulders where it was applied.
