My female cat vomits at least twice a day when eating wet foods  ( the only two she WILL eat ) . Fancy Feast Classic & Iams . She is fine for a few days and then starts the vomiting . I had to take it away . She does NOT vomit AT ALL with  a high quality kibble ( Evo )  .  As long as I do not give her wet food she is perfectly fine  . I don't get it ..

I find it odd that she vomits a few days after beginning to eat wet food... Could it be something else? I would keep a careful eye on her, keep a journal of what she's doing if you can if you attempt to feed wet again.

Is she eating it too fast? Spread the wet food out on a plate so she slows down.

I assume you have tried other wet foods, including LID ones? If not, it might be a certain ingredient or protein the kitty is upset with.

As always, speaking to your vet about it may help give you some ideas on why this is happening.

Yeah , I find it especially odd because she never vomits while eating kibble . It is only wet food .. I would try other wet foods but she will not eat it ..  No it is not due to eating too fast , she is a grazer . Both cats are due for a wellness check soon , I will ask the Vet about it then .

I would compare the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and see what's in the wet food that isn't in the dry. I know they're different but certain FF cans have wheat in it and fish flavouring. I'm not sure about Iams though.

Neither have wheat gluten but almost all have some form of fish  .. Maybe it could be the fish  , but she eats kibble with fish in it and that does make her sick . Really weird ..

i'm assuming you tried the Evo wet?
Yes  , I tried the 95 %  Chicken & Turkey one . Neither of them liked it ..  I got the Evo kibble and she is doing great on that . No issues at all ..

My cat Tiger would vomit if the food was fish based. He did fine on chicken and turkey flavors but just couldn't handle the fish. He would also gorge sometimes but I just think he was sensitive to fish based canned foods. However he could eat bits of salmon from our dinner and tilapia (white fish) without any issues. I just think some cats are sensitive to the ocean whitefish they use in canned cat food. I know it's in dry but he did best with chicken or turkey (he was on purina gentle formula and it was turkey flavored) dry food. I had to feed him both because he was super sensitive with canned food. He wouldn't always puke but I made sure the wet was in small amounts so he didn't make himself sick.

Thank you ,  I think I will  go with  50/50   kibble and wet and see if that helps . Also find a food that has no fish .

My cat also vomited wet food and not dry. It took some detective work, but I figured out that he is extremely sensitive to some ingredients in wet food. In particular, carrageenan caused him problems. Once I stopped feeding foods with that ingredient, the vomit stopped. I would suggest you look closely at the ingredients of food your cat vomits and see if you can find a pattern. Once you identify a pattern, eliminate the suspect ingredient(s) and see how he does. Good luck.

That is very helpful  , thank you .. Well  the two wet foods that made her sick were Fancy Feast & Iams ..  I will  take down the ingredients and compare to some other brands ..

Again, I'm not familiar with Iams but some Fancy Feast flavours are better than other flavours. The ones that have been deemed "good" are these: http://www.felinediabetes.com/glutenfree.htm Of course, avoid the fish flavoured ones if it's fish your kitty is sensitive to. I believe Chicken feast, chicken and liver feast, turkey and giblets feast all don't have fish flavouring.

FF doesn't have carrageenan which is awesome.

Thank you .   Yeah , she has eaten those flavors of  FF and still vomited  . I am going to try something else.

You are very welcome! It could just be that your cat is sensitive to wet food but it seems like the fish based is a problem.  Miagi & Angel have it with  no problems with fish based wet food but they don't have a sensitive tummy like my Tiger boy did.

which Iams did you feed? Fish? Carrageenan? Menadione? Wheat Gluten? Try some Nutro natural choice see if it still happens? Stick to chunky chicken or turkey loaf. See if it continues.

Between both brands they had all those ingredients so it is really hard to say what it is that is making them sick . I am going to stay away from those brands or anything like it ..  They are eating just the Evo kibble now and no problems .. I will try they Nutro Natural Choice though . It will have to be chicken though , they do not like turkey ..
