Do asthmatic cats still have occasional symptoms while on treatment?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and wanted to ask a few questions about my kitty.

My cat is a year and a half old, siamese male, and was diagnosed with asthma December 2014. His symptoms were never severe, nothing on x rays and only coughs a few times a week.

i've been treating him with flixotide, two puffs daily (50 micrograms each). But his symptoms never go away completely, and has started to happen more frequently.
In January, February and March he coughed about once a month, and they were all pretty mild coughs. But in April he coughed about three times total, and the coughs lasted a bit longer, kind of like the ones he used to have before we started him on the meds. Other than that he is completely fine, playing and eating like a healthy cat.

My question is do asthmatic cats continue to have symptoms to some degree even when they receive medication? or should I be worried that my cat isn't doing well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance:)

Some cats do. My previous cat occasionally coughed even with daily Flovent treatment. He was on the 250 mcg Flovent. I suggest talking with your vet about possibly using a stronger strength of the flixotide to control the asthma better.
