Hi All

I just thought I would post to tell you that while I am on vacation, the lady I have watching my cats had to deal with one of them dieing.  She was outside she pretty much lived on my balcony in a dog house I got for her.  She had a miscarriage about two weeks ago.  Everything was fine it seemed, so I went on my vacation.  She was eating and drinking until last night I guess something happened and she went down hill very fast and passed away last night.  My neighbors had taken her in and made her as comfortable as possible.  She was so bad she didn't even care that they were holding her and petting her trying to make her last hours as best as they could.  She died sometime in the night.  She died knowing that not all people were bad.  I just feel so bad that I wasn't there to try to do anything not that I could really its the end of the month and even tho I am on vacation. I am at my sons and don't need to have much money.  I wouldn't have been able to take her to the vet like I did with Sweetie.  I just needed to vent and cry to some people who knows what its like taking care of the feral population. Thanks for letting me write this to you all.

A very heart sick

Rena

:hugs: I am so sorry for your loss. Not being there only makes it harder. She had a quick death, knowing she was loved and cared for. Even if you had been there the outcome wouldn't have been any different. You have her the best life that she'd allow you to.
Rest in peace, sweet girl :rbheart:

I am so sorry this happened. I am glad you took care of her and the neighbors were with her when she went. It might have distressed her more to see you upset. I know that I love my outdoor kitties just as much as my indoor ones.  Run free sweet kitty.

I know how much it hurts to lose a baby that you have been caring for, and loving, for a while. You gave her a home when she had none, and the love and attention she so desperately wanted. For that you should be blessed, so many would have turned their backs. I'm happy she died knowing that someone cared, I would like to thank those kind neighbors for making sure she did not die alone. Your heart will have a hole in it, they take a part of it with them when they leave us, and it takes a long time to heal. Time is the only thing that seems to help, I hope one day soon you will be able to remember her with smiles and let those memories comfort you when tears threaten to fall. I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers, I'm so very sorry for your loss, thank you fro letting us know of this beautiful little girl. RIP sweet little girl, you will never be forgotten!

I'm very sorry for your loss and can understand that not being there makes it even tougher. Even though they don't cuddle, etc., ferals touch our hearts in ways it's hard to explain. :rbheart:

I am sorry for your loss & that you were not able to be with her.  She left knowing that someone loved her enough to provide food, water & shelter.  She had people with her for comfort at the end. Most ferals receive nothing but distaste from the human world.

I'm so sorry for your loss - - they come into our hearts and burrow in so deeply, no matter how much we can hold and pet. And I know not being there has added to the pain. But, as everyone said above, she went knowing love, warmth during the cold, comfort, safety and a full tummy. And that's so much more than most ferals ever even get to experience …and she lived that way. I'm so sorry - - we're all thinking of you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort knowing she left this world knowing love. And gentleness. The kitty was lucky to have you as you were to have her. Cats leave paw prints on our heart! RIP Little Kitty =^..^=
