I wrote before but no one amswered.
My cat had ibd and a heart condition.
He is being fussy about his food but he is eating
Now he had diarrhea. Three times today.
Could he have a flare up if he is continually taking the mess? I didn't switch food.
Thanks

Hi

What treatments is your cat currently getting for the IBD?

How old is your cat?

Has he had diarrhea before today, and how often?

What is your cat eating?

And is your cat getting treatment for the heart condition?

A sudden change in cat food can make diarrhea worse so I would talk to your vet before changing food.  If you can answer the questions above we may be able to make some more suggestions.  IBD is a complicated disease, my cat had it for many years.

He takes presidone 1/4 a day he takes Pepcid 1/4 twice a day
He takes 1/4 of the antenolon (def spelled wrong)
He had had loose stools last couple of months back and forth
Diarrhea a couple of years ago when I switched food not since
His heart is slightly enlarged, we haven't had really any issues since he has been on the meds.
Currently he is eating wervuva chicken (past couple months) and natural balance.
It's been the only food he will eat
He stopped eating wellness a while ago
The food thing has been an issue since dec when he stopped eating and had to stay ant the vet. He will eat this which is grain free. I have tried a lot.

OK well its clear he's getting a lot of appropriate treatments.  It's possible his IBD may be progressing, and it may warrant an adjustment of his meds and in particular the prednisone dose, assuming he hasn't changed his diet since the diarrhea started a few days ago.  It's really important to try and keep IBD under control for as long as possible because if you can't, it can progress to the point where there is a risk of dying.  It's time to see your vet again.

would adding some plain canned pumpkin to his food help an IBD kitty? this is what I add to my cats'  food when they have tummy troubles and it works great but they don't have IBD (fortunately). @js124  I'm sorry your kitty isn't feeling well and that your last post didn't get answered. I hope you find something that helps soon. Sending vibes out that your kitty feels better soon.

If its very watery then this isn't good and he needs intervention as soon as possible.  I wouldn't wait, I'd get to the vet.

I suspect in this case pumpkin won't help, although it probably wouldn't hurt.  IBD can be serious and the OP's cat seems to need more aggressive intervention.  IBD cat's have inflamed and damaged intestines, its not just a dietary issue, although it may start as one, by the time a cat is on prednisilone a more serious clinical condition.
