ibd flare ups

 cat has flareups every couple weeks now it seems.

He was last seen about a month ago but it was for  hairball stuck.

He goes through these phases were he hates his food.

I have been through every kind of cat food and now  I am at a loss.

He has been fine with wervuva chicken and natural balance but now doesn't want either.

He had a small and  I mean small hairball the other day so  thought it was that a first but he usually bounces back.

he is on 1/4 tablet presidone a  day and 1/4 Pepcid twice.

I will mention too he has a heart condition so he takes meds for that as well.

His pooh also has been smelling awful this week.
 

So my question is, are flare up normal? Ha anyone dealt with this.

I don't want to  keep switching foods either.

I also have metrozonidale left from his last flare up. Can I give him that or should  call the vet.

I'm bumping this up for you, since I see you haven't gotten any responses.  I know we have LOTS of members whose cats have IBD, so suspect you'll get some responses soon, however, I would definitely call the Vet on the metro question.
