First off I just joined this site and I'm really hoping I will not get attacked for saying what I'm about to say. My daughter Bailee begged me for a cat about 3 years ago, I got her her cat and she loved her kitty we named Sandy. Then April 2, 2013 my little girl went to her friends house for a sleepover and went into cardiac arrest- she was 15 years old. They tried to resuscitate her but were not able to save her. They also were not able to find anything wrong with anything her heart lungs brain ets and now her final cause of death is "undetermined" PLEASE PLEASE don't attack me for not having sandy spayed.
Last summer I started thinking of how cool it would bd if sandy got pregnant and i gave her best friend and other friends and family the kittens, everyone was so excited to have a little part of Bailee. I basically let sandy outside for a day and the next think if knew she was getting mounted right on the front sidewalk by an all black cat, sandy is a brownish colored tiger cat. When she had the kittens august 29th she had SEVEN kitty's!! 3 black kitty's just like the dad 3 tiger kitty's just like her and the last one born was all white, my mom told me he was an angel kitty from my daughter! Ynfortuatly one kitten died the next morning and one the next week but 2 tigers 2 black cats and my angel kitty did great. I did end up keeping willow the white kitty and one of the black cats. The white cat ended up to have dark ears nose feet and tail i did some research and he's a lynx point. I thought that was pretty cool. We'll she got out again recently and was outside for a few minutes we'll she got pregnant again by a greyish smokey tiger striped cat. I have homes more of my daughters friends and family are taking them. I also found out recently that Sandys brother had a kitty of kittens and one of them was a lynx point.

My questions are this if she had 7 kitty's her first litter will she have more the second time ? And also do you think there might be another white "lynx point "angel kitten in the litter?

Like I said please don't tell me how I need to get her fixed etc etc I have out this off for a long time asking because I don't want someone to try to fight with me because if the reasons i let her get pregnant I was very special for Bailee's best friend and her older brother and a few other people to have that little piece of Bailee. It's been a real long depressing 2 years and these kittens bring me so much happiness.
Thanks
Faith

I am so very sorry to hear that happened.  I think she may have less, it is hard to tell. I do say this, I hope you don't lose her during kitten-birth. I know she is very special and what you're trying to do is sweet but the thing is, she is going to get very tired having kittens.

Thanks for your response but this is pretty much the exact thing that i did not want to hear. I do know that but this was a very unique and special situation. We lost Bailee suddenly when she was at her best friends house when she went into cardiac arrest they never found anything at all wrong with her and starting the next steps genetic testing etc I do know the cat she had the first litter with and I also know the dad she is having the second litter with so they are not stray cats or stranger cats . The first kittens went to her best friend her other goid friend and her cousin non e of them would ever ever let Bailee's cats end up in a shelter the second litter I askin have family responsible family taking them I have not ask anyone i didn't think they would keep them forever and take care of them. 21 year old son is taking one Bailee's other cousin is taking one and I have other people who want one but I'm a little bit of hesitant on giving these few friends cats because I DONT think they realize the importance of them being Bailee's cat. She is not due till about 5/22 so we will see how many she's a small cat, could not believe she had seven the first time

We cant know how many kittens there will be next time.  Probably not more, because 7 is above average.  But she seems belongs to a maternity line where they may have many kittens...  So I guess it will be at least 4, say 4-7 as the most probable.

Be sure she gets first class, good nourishment!

Re the point gene.  The point is recessive, and must come from both mom and dad.

As both Sandy and her bro got pointed kittens, we know both are point carriers.  It may be enough one of their parents was a carrier. It wasnt necessary any of them was a point, although it would help the statistics if one of them was. - I presume mom wasnt, as you dont mention it.

Willows dad Blackie was thus a carrier too, like surely  his cousins mom.

If  Sandy next litter will contain a point?  Probably not, it demands next tom was a carrier of the point gene him too.  And that isnt so common.

Unless there was an active pointed tom around your area, spreading around the point gene.   :)   A very active carrier may be enough, but the spreading is slower.

Re the letting her having litters etc...   I do understand you wish to have these kittens, as a precious memory of your dau Bailee. Honouring her this way.

And its luck for you you have got these healthy home boys as neighbours, whom both were fully acceptable fathers.

The problem here, their owners should neuter them.  Its not good to let fertile toms run out there around.  Its not just impregnating every female cat aroung, but pissing, perhaps fighting, there is a risk they disappear, etc.

Yet, I know this happened in my own family too, in a matter of speaking, so I wont say too much.    :(

OK, YOU do have an entirely perfect and ethical reason to have kittens from Sandy, and thus, you together honoring Bailee.

But its still a dilemma.

Yes.   Most cats prefer to have a cat pal.  Especially kittens.  It is thus easier to have two cats than just one.

And thus, please, encourage all these friends and relatives, both these adopting Sandys kittens kittens, and these whom didnt were trusted with this privilege, encourage them to adopt at least one kitten or adult cat from the shelter or rescued by a rescue group.

This dosnt need to be an  Either Or.  The solution is to have Both.

This way, the owner will be having memory of Bailee,  AND also at the same way, doing a good, praiseworthy deed.   And you thus actively helping in rescue work, you too.

THAT would be a beautiful homage to Bailee.  Im sure of it.

Good luck!

I am glad to hear they are are not stranger cats but still being outside and being males, unfixed males, means fighting just as @StefanZ   stated in the response, but during these fights they can contract diseases. All it takes is a good, deep bite and with your female cat around and they know it, there will be fights. I am glad there are responsible homes.

I do want to ask, will you have Sandy spayed after this litter? Since she has been with males and with kittens, it will only make her heat cycles worse and her need to get out worse. Another question, will Sandy's kittens be spayed or neutered when they are of age? Because cats can breed fast, very fast. Here is my recent experience with it, I was contacted about a colony of 8 cats two males and 6 females, all females pregnant. I got them all, cared for kittens, and got the females fixed after they had their litters, was up to nearly 30 kitties total. I am down to 24 now not considering the ones who never made it past kittenhood. This is in addition to my personal 6. I didn't want to have innocent kitten lives lost, so I ended up with everyone. I am glad I am out in the country and I've not had any trouble with having them.  Where I live not many people like cats let alone adopt them. I have tried for rehoming but no one wanted them. Now they are grown. I think its due to the fact nearly all are solid black. My little panthers. :)

Thank you so much Stephenz for your positive response. This will be her last litter I have spoke with the humane society and am going to have her fixed as soon as she can be. I was very hesitant to post this here or on the Facebook site I'm a part of because I know that cats should def be spayed and neutered it was just so amazing to be able to share Bailee with others this way. Bailee's best friend hope (where she was when she went Into cardiac arrest ) she said she wanted a tiger kitten so in the first week I decided "this one here is for hope" Logan now looks identical to her mama!! It's amazing! Bailee also had a lost of names that she wanted to name her kitty's or kids when she grew up and I had anyone who got kitten to choose a name from Bailee's list of names so all the kitty's Bailee texhnically named.
Thank you for not being harsh![emoji]128156[/emoji][emoji]128124[/emoji]

Thank you nansilude for
Your response i am petrified something might happen to her giving birth. And this is the last litter she will have. The 12 weeks I had those kitty's last year were the happiest weeks I have had in the last 2 years since my daughter died. It felt so good to feel happiness again!
Thank you

Nansiludie (sorry if i spelled that wrong again)
Yes she HAS TO BE FIXED you are so right about her heat cycles changing before the kitty's she had typical heat cycles was really a very good cat after the kittens it was almost constant!!! Insane!! And after about 4 months she started hating the two kitty's that we kept! HATING! I think she is actually afraid of them as they are kitty's and kinda crazy! We'll since the kittens she has even been spraying the curtains she never did this before. I was actually afraid her boys would end up getting her pregnant we'll she would not let them near her for that to happen! She has been anlittle nicer to tme since she has been pregnant. The boys are not fixed yet I actually had the application fills out to have all 3 fixed trying to get them fixed at a cheaper low income price but it costs $20 eaxh cat just to apply to have them fixed so i did not get to submit the application in time and she got pregnant again I have no income as I hav been having a lot of issues sinxe my daughter died and my boyfriend just does not seem to understand the importance of getting them fixed it's so frustrating but she will for sure be fixed ASAP after the kitty's are born and the 3 from her 1st litter all have been vaccinated and fixed

It was pretty amazing the first time she had the kittys. 3 were tigers like her 3 were black and the very last one was all white which scared me I thought something was wrong with him since the parents were tigers and black cat but my mom
Said he was an angel kitty from Bailee in heaven .)

Aww, I am glad to hear it, please try to not worry too much about birthing complications, they are rare but they do happen. I just wanted you to be aware. You're doing a good thing with keeping her boys away. Its a good thing they've been fixed too. Please keep us posted on how they all do.
