This is really dumb,
but I just don't know what to get Snowball for Christmas this year...

He already has quite a few wand toys and other toys, and some of them he hasn't played with for awhile. He's on a special diet for medical reasons so I can't get him treats. He already has a nice bed. He also has 7 or 8 combs and brushes, at least 6 food and water bowls and a Drinkwell Pet Fountain. ...and he already has a nice leather collar.

Any ideas?????
OR
Should I just forget about a gift for Snowball since cats don't know anything about Christmas anyway??????

P.S. He's not a young playful kitten, he's 12 years old.

Does he like to look out the window? What about one of those window perches? I am thinking of getting the boys one.

Get him a nice catnip pillow from Pat & Alix or a Korby stik from PrincessPurr . Cats always like something with catnip

Cats don't know anything about christmas??!!
Even if they don't we can't help but shower them with gifts, huh Lorie? heheheh
I'm sure there must be something in the Cat Shop that Snowball would like to have. Perhaps another feline friend!

I must be the only person who is NOT buying their cats anything for Christmas. I buy them thing all year long, when I see something I can afford and I think they will like. I don't think cats or dogs have any comprehension of Christmas. However I think a cat nip pillow would be a great gift to get a cat.

Lorie, what medical condition does Snowball have? If it's diabetes or crf, or if whatever the condition is, if he's allowed chicken, you can consider treats such as Kitty Kaviar, Old West Shrimp Bits or Baa Bits, WildSide Salmon, Dr. Harvey's whisker smackers chicken (or beef), rosie's rewards...all are high protein and fine for cats with diabetes, for cats with crf, it would have to be a very sparing treat (but a little pinch of kitty kaviar goes a long way).

Other ideas...if Snowball likes to spend time on a particular window sill area, hang a bird house in a tree near that window - wonderful for the birds (and squirrels) and free entertainment for Snowball!

If you want Snowball to be more active, consider getting a spinning, rolling kind of toy, one of the many ball toys out there (crinkles have nice sound effects, others have catnip inside), a toy for wrassling with (kirbystick, hot cats catnip toy, furball frenzy)...or you could get Snowball a present for you <G>...one of the collars Princesspurr carries

No, Snowball hasn't a clue why on that day, there would be presents, but with our cats, who needs more than the slightest excuse <G>?

I'm having the same problem shopping for Spike. He's the cat who has everything. (Minus an outdoor cat enclosure, and that will have to wait.
) But inside, I can't think of anything to get him that he doesn't already have. *sigh*

Pat & Alix, Snowball has early kidney disease. BTW, what is a kirbystick and what does it look like? I went to Princesspurr's site and a couple of other sites, but I couldn't find this item.

How about getting Snowball something nice and not too expensive and also making a donation in his name to your local cat shelter (or another cat charity)? Tell Snowball he'll be making another cat happy this Christmas

Just a thought...

How about a HabiKat Sun Room? You can get them at Petsmart. A birdfeeder near his favorite window is a good idea. Or you could get this! You could get a Cat Sitter DVD/VHS things to watch when you're not home or not in the room. A heated pad?

You could get him mommy something that he'll benefit from.
Like a new comforter for your bed he'll like to sleep on/under, or new comfy PJ's he'll like to snuggle up next to.

I like Anne's suggestion. Give Snowball his favorite food, play with him using his favorite toy, and groom him with his favorite brush or comb. And let him play with Christmas wrappings (the paper or boxes, not the ribbons). You could also just ignore any misbehavior - we've been watching the special reports on Saddam's capture, so Jamie has decided to detach the cable from our TV several times today - if it were Christmas, I wouldn't tell him he was a "bad kitty cat!"

Anne, I like the idea of making a donation to a shelter in Snowball's name. Thanks for suggesting it.

I think that is what we are getting our kitties this year. They have so much stuff and don't need anything big like a kitty condo (they got that last year)

here is marble with a kirby stick, a couple different places on line sell them (including me)
and my three trying to get the stick

these are catnip tailz

I always thought the same thing! It was really easy the first year... a bit harder the second... and we're only on our 4th Christmas with Spike, and it's impossible to shop for the furball. I suppose it's really my fault, but I can't help it!
I can't imagine how hard it'll be once Spike turns 12 like Snowball. I wish I had a suggestion for you, but I'm out of ideas on my end as well. At least my mom's kitten and sister's cat will be easier to shop for... since they both just got adopted this summer, they have slightly less than Spike does... for now.

I do like the idea of making a donation in his name to a charity though, thanks Anne.
