Mean feral bullys other cats

Hello, so where we live there are alot of feral cats. Alot. We have 2 kittens and one more cat since living here. The mom was with us, but hasnt been around in 3 or 4 weeks. Thats another story, and Im getting worried about her. Like i said though, there are many cats that roam around where we live, and now when this one cat comes around our kittens run up trees and the other one hides. This mean cat is even mean to humans. He hasnt clawed yet, but he meow/growls very loudly at us, and also at the cats. He stands his ground too and will give us a loud meow/howl. Over and over. He runs if we walk towards him. One wierd thing is that he swallows alot during all of this. And we cant tell why. There isnt any foam coming from the mouth that we can see. Is there some sort of sickness that causes any of this?

Cats sometimes swallow when they are distressed, which sounds like the situation. The best thing to do is trap them and fix them. It will calm them down and keep more from being born. Sounds like there are enough already!

There is a group in my area that traps. There is also a one day spay/neuter clinic here. We have used the traps before here. We caught 3, took them to get neutered (all 3 were male) and we havent seen them almost since. Then we took 2 cats, one boy one girl, that had started coming inside where we stay, and they died a week later, the same night. We are a little hesitant about trying it again.
