Had a nice dinner with our neighbors, Fran and Kenneth, for our anniversary last night. Went to the Outback - didn't take our nephew's advice and spend $300 at a fancy restaurant. Not in our budget! And from all your responses I think you agree with us. Anyway, nice dinner, good company. Fran and Kenneth have been good neighbors. When I had my colon surgery last June they stayed with Paul in the waiting room during my surgery. It was great moral support for him - and for me.

Congratulations on your anniversary! I hope you will have many more :)

The Outback is a perfectly nice place... one of the restaurants I miss most now that I'm in Europe actually.  Ah for a bloomin onion...

We had a Bloomin Onion -- not good for you, but SO GOOD. Don't have it often, so this was a treat.

I really like Outback also.  A friend and I could go to Outback and I could, if I am careful buy a month's worth of food at the supermarket for myself for the $300 it would cost for two of us at an expensive restaurant,

I used to love Outback. Since the one closest to us stopped carrying their French Onion Soup, I haven't been back. Before that, though, I was a big Outback fan.

We get gift cards sometimes for Outback and we try to use them. I like their grilled salmon. Nice restaurant.

DH and I will go to Outback if we are near one.  There is one by the beach; but if we head down that way by ourselves we usually go for seafood.

I do like their Bloomin Onions.  We can get those (or similar anyway) at Texas Roadhouse or Lonestar; but because our DD has a peanut allergy we don't go there with the kids anymore.  She's never had an issue; but i'd just rather not risk having a bad experience.

I could go for one of those now actually...

Our 44th wedding anniversary is today!
We gave each other a card and that was pretty much it. But we're taking Friday off to go down to the Green Dragon and then to look at that fire pit that Rick wants. That may be our anniversary gift this year. And then out to dinner on the way home.

We're going with friends, so we won't be able to bring the fire pit home (I'm driving the Tucson and we can't put that much weight into the car). But we can go back down, maybe next weekend, in the truck and pick it up then. I hope it goes OK.

44 years. And to think that when we got married, our friends took bets to see if we'd make it through our first year.

Congratulations. You both would enjoy the fire pit. Have a nice time out and enjoy yourselves.
