We have had our new kitty for a week now. She has the foulest gas! I am sad cause it is so raunchy i have to kick her out of my room at night. It seems to only be at night to. HELP! WHY does she smell? i dont recall ever having a cat smell this bad, and hope its not permanent.

What are you feeding her?  A change of diet might be the answer...

We actually picked up some new food today. My husband mentioned it could also be the treats. So hopefully something helps soon.

I vote worms!  But food can make a difference. Are you feeding wet food?  Some of the dry is so foul!

Rest assured, you will be able to change this!  You have only had her for 1 week.  It is a frequent experience that in the newly settling in period, the stress of this, plus a possible sudden change in the accustomed diet, results in dietary distress.  So the first thing you can do, is find out what she was used to eating.  Get her this.  Allow her to 'settle' and then, slowly transition her to the food you would like her to eat - and base your choice on best feline nutrition knowledge, not cost or marketing.  You will often see in marketing that some cat food offerings (often kibble) will have an additive they claim 'reduces fecal odour'.  DO NOT BELIEVE IT.  Your guiding principle should be that good health gives good digestion.  And the basis of good health is nutrition - more on that here: http://catinfo.org/

Of course, you may need to tackle a couple of health avenues - a new pet check up at the vet is always a good idea, and will start you off on any necessary worming etc...

Not giving her milk. Im giving her natural something kitten food, from petco. She seems to be doing better not as gassy, but still slips here and there. But tolorable. Overall she has been doing great, actually coming into my room and will sleep for a little bit. Shes not playing kinda rough but at least shes socializing now

When my husband and I got our last cat as a kitten from HSUS (she passed away last year, nearly reaching age 15), she had gas too and bad-smelling poops... they had been feeding her some low-grade kibble. (We used to call her kitten poops, "CDUs" ["Crowd Dispersal Units"], as they made any small or large group of humans quickly leave the room!) Anyway, I recommend tammyp's advice on gradually switching your kitten's food over to a food based on "... best feline nutrition knowledge, not cost or marketing". We are getting our own new kitten soon from a great rescue shelter, and we will be going through this same type of dietary switchover, to my preferred choices of canned foods. When we visited her at the shelter last weekend, she had a bit of gas and definitely... CDUs!
