My queen, Chloe, has been pregnant for 61 days. She's very prominent in the stomach and her teets are very swelled. I've looked up signs of them ready for labor. She's only showing two signs, restlessness and over affectionate. She's eating tons and has been nesting a lot. She's grooming her tummy a lot, well as much as she can reach. There is no discharge or milk though. When did your cats show these signs? Thanks!

I, as well as my breeder friends, always put day 65 as the expected date. From experience, specially with first litters, they get born on an average of day 65. So hopefully they will stay in a little longer! If there's nothing there yet around day 69, call the vet. After day 70, they need to come out, and usually they need the help from a vet when they have been inside of her that long. This doesn't occur often, but just a heads up.

Good luck!

Thank you! I'm getting very impatient lol. Kittens are so exciting! My older cat whos passed had two litters and I was too young to care about where she was in her pregnancy so now that I'm keeping track I'm getting very eager.

At 4:30 a.m. my cat had kittens. She has 5 as of now and it is over still hours since her last one came out. She has been panting and bleeding a little bit but is eating and nursing. Is this normal after a day of labour?

Hopefully she will calm down after she gets some rest. Having kittens is a lot of work. The fact that she is eating and nursing is good.

Most cats bleed a little for a day or so after giving birth. Is it a little or a great deal?

Keep an eye on her. Does she act distressed or cry? Does she seem to have fever or lethargy? If she isn't better by morning, take her to see a vet.

Let's hope that it's just after-pains and will stop soon.

Keep us posted!

Hi! I am just checking in on this. How is mom doing now? By now the bleeding should have stopped and she should no longer be panting.  If she is still experiencing these symptoms you should take her in to a vet.

Hope all is going well with you and the new arrivals!
