Ugh.  She is a mess since we are home from the vet.  I got the cage all ready and in she went.  All seemed well.  Then she started pacing.  Around and around she went.  Half hour later when I checked on her.  She had dumped the dry food and kicked it every where.  It all over the room.  There was litter every where too.  Of course she didn't pee in the box, but she did pee on the pee pad.  There was litter in her food and food in her litter.  SHe was a mess.  So out she came.  I blocked off the room to make it smaller and put 5 litter boxes scattered about.  I cut up the pee pad she peed on and buried a bit in each box.

She will not stop pacing.  Today was a hard day for her.  She did eat 1/4 of a can of wet on her own!!

It seems there is just something off about her.  I am hoping it's just the illness and malnourishment.  But she has no concern if she steps in food or lays in pee.

This will be a process.  I am going to give her some Composure later and see if it helps.  I am using a Feliway and Rescue Remedy.

Great that she ate more on her own.

As for the rest, I really hope it's just an extreme stress reaction from the vet visit and her room reorganisation. The not caring about stepping in pee or food...could it be depression? Given that all the neurological tests checked out, that's the next thing that springs to mind for me. If she doesn't pick up, maybe a custom blend might work better than rescue remedy for her. The scent of vanilla is meant to be both calming and good for lifting depression in people...maybe that's worth a try too.

Sorry if I'm being thick/irritating. Not been the best of days and it's late. Really hope Sadie settles soon :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

The good news is that Sadie is eating on her own.  The bad news is that the appetite stimulant has caused her to pace incessantly.  She has not stopped pacing since yesterday around 4pm.  It is awful.  I have a baby cam in her room and it was pitiful to watch.  So another call to the vet.  She seems a bit out of it too.  Also no pee or poop.

Poor baby. It didn't occur to me that an appetite stimulant might stimulate other things too. It's great she's eating by herself, but it's a high price to pay for it. Hope the vet can easily fix the side effects.

Well, the pacing is much much less.  She finally crashed about 2 pm yesterday after 20 hours of pacing.  She is eating on her own almost an entire can each day.  She is drinking a tiny bit of water too.  So that is all good news.

She is still weak.  I am sure all of the pacing didn't help.  She wobbles alot.  Also her last pee was on Monday morning.  She finally went ( on the floor again) this morning.  I have 4 litter boxes in a small space for her.  I wonder if she is just too weak to sense when she has to go.  She walks in the litter boxes, but walks back out.  She seems a little fuzzy in the head.  I am really stumped about the litter box situation.  I am thinking about putting her in a small bathroom that I will scatter litter trays.  But I wonder if I should give her a few more days until she is feeling stronger.

I am giving her a Spirit Essence flower essence called Trauma.  It does seem to be helping her.  Also composure liquid in her food.

I am just trying to take things day by day.

I'm glad she's eating well and that the pacing has stopped. Poor little girl. Have you had her urine checked? It's possible there's some kind of kidney issue. Just thinking about what happens with people - once all the body fat has been used up, it starts on muscles etc and that effects liver and kidneys, as well as other organs. It's usually reversible once good nutrition and weight gain are established. Maybe something like that is the root of her pee problem. Hope its nothing more serious. You might well find that it sorts itself out as she gets stronger.

It's good the spirit essences etc are helping her. You're doing wonderfully with her. She's so lucky to have you.

Well, she just pooped on the rug too.  Yet it's normal poo!!!  So bowels are starting to wake up.  I think I may confine her to the bathroom tonight and into tomorrow.

Sadie has taken a turn for the worse.  I am not sure she is going to make it.  Yesterday she slept most of the day.  This was good since she had paced for 20 hours.  Yet she ate at least a can of wet food on her own.  Yet she seemed very tired and she had problems lifting her head.  I left her food overnight as she has been eating during the night as well.  When I went in this morning, she hadn't touched the food.  She could hardly move.  She falls over, can't hold her head up and refuses to eat.  I did hear a few sneezes again.  I hold onto an ounce of hope that her infection is not cleared up.  We stopped antibiotics on Monday night since she was so much better and it was thought to cause her some digestive upset.  Now she is the worst she has been.  THe vet doesn't open for another 90 minutes.  I am so scared she is going to die.  I just keep crying.  I am not sure I can save her.  Please send good thoughts to Sadie.

:hugs: Poor little girl. I'm so sorry that she's having to go through this (you too). I really hope she can hold on for the vet, and that she'll make it. Stay strong little one :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Sadie is spending the day at the vet.  She will have blood work done.  They believe she has an injury to her tail.  She is in major pain.  Might be the reason behind the potty issues.  Not sure why she can't lift her head much.  The vet did think she would live.  But she has a long road ahead of her.  I will know more later today.  THank you for your kind well wishes.

That's good news (that she'll live, I mean). I've been worrying about Sadie since your last post. I can't imagine how worried you must be. I hope the blood work doesn't reveal anything too dreadful. Hang in there - you need to be strong for her sake. :hugs: You're both in my thoughts. Keep updating. :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

My heart sank when I read this. I can imagine how worried you are for Sadie but you are taking such good care of her and I'm praying she pulls through this.

You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

The vest just called.  Sadie has a bone out of place at the base of her tail.  The vet says it looks like someone flung her by the tail.  Also might explain why her neck/head is having problems.  She had impacted anal glands too.  Her throat is also sore as a result of the respiratory virus.  They are doing a laser treatment on her.  Blood work came back normal!!  She will be there for a few more hours.

So she's not eating because of the sore throat and general not feeling well.  Also she is in a lot of pain.  She will be coming home later with pain meds.  This also explains why she is not using a litter box.

I feel better, but she is not out of the woods yet.

Poor little girl. At least you have some answers now. Great that her bloods are normal. I know she's not out of the woods, but there's plenty to hope for. We're all (furkids too) rooting for her. Get well soon Sadie :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:
