My extremely friendly 2 yr old Maine Coon started khissing and growling at her kitty friends today and hiding sometimes, shys away from when I come near her. SHe's eating and drinking. I took her to the vet who couldn't find anything except she'd had diahhrea and wanted to put her on special food, bland diet. Came home, she ate but is hiding under my bed. Nothing appears to hurt her? What is the sudden change?

Is it possible something scared her? Either one of the cats or something else that is causing her to redirect at them?  Has anything at all happened to the other cats lately or anything that is out of their routine?

Usually, behavioral changes like that do mean something's not right with the kitty.  Good for you for getting her to the vet quickly.  Keep an eye on her and if you don't notice an improvement, call the vet again or take her back in.

Thanks she's still acting the same tonight she did come to me for petting but something spooked her when I touched her with my foot and she growled again. We got a new kitten sat and she seems fine with him. He's 8 weeks. Mickey the cat she is attacking is her BFF though she loves him I don't understand why she is acting like this towards him? And he is following her around like he knows somethjbg is wrong. I asked if it was cystitis or something and vet insisted she wasn't showing any signs and didn't appear to have a fever.

Given how recently you introduced a new cat, i suspect she is redirecting against the other adult.  I would put the new kitten in another room and see if this has an effect, and start a slow re-introduction.

Please help me!!! This is my cat Xena. She is a little over a year old and I have had her about 9 months. She has never really been one of those cuddly cats that just want to be in your Lap all the time. But the last couple months she has been darting outside when ever she can. Will not come to me once she is outside, and when I finally catch her and bring her back in she growls and hisses at me. She even does it when shes inside I got to pet her and she puts her ears down and starts growling then ends up hissing at me. I don't know why she is doing this. She always has fresh litter, fresh food, and fresh water. She isn't fixed so I understand her darting outside could land her pregnant. But why has she been growling and hissing? Its like she doesn't even want anything to do with me one min then the next she sleeping at my feet in bed. Am I doing something wrong!? Or could this be a sign she's already pregnant? I have never had a cat be like this. Please help!!!!

She sounds like she needs to be fixed asap.  It sounds like redirected aggression (angry at something else but takes it out on you) and being sexually active can be a big part of this.  TCS is pro spay/neuter and there is no medical or behavioral reason to let her remain intact.

I plan on having her fixed as soon as possible. But if she is pregnant already should I wait or have them aborted? Or what should I do? What else could she be mad at? There are a few strays arounhere I live. But like I said before she hasn't always been doing this. And I wrote wrong in my first post. It hasn't been a couple months its been a couple weeks maybe a month tops. She has had my 3 or 4 heat cycles. The last 2 were a week to 2 weeks apart and that was 2 weeks ago. Can I do anything for the time being to help her not be so aggressive? And will she calm down when I get her spayed?

I would talk to your vet.
