Hi all

Yuki is our siamese kitty.  Generally she is just this small loving puppy like purr ball.

In the last 6 months to a year Yuki has decided to start hunting for her true love....my other half.  At first she would bring him pom pom cat toys, stand on her chest, and try to shove the ball in his mouth (we think she was trying to feed him).  This was accompanied by constant yeowling....as cats often do when playing this game.

We removed all of the pom pom's because we weren't sleeping.

Then she moved onto the other cats toys.  As soon as we removed one, she'd find another.  These were also almost all removed.

And then came the clothing.  During this past winter she has brought him:

His scarf

2 sets of mittens

his hat many times

my hat many times

and various knitting projects.

Now that all of that is put away she is onto socks.  Sometimes we don't even know where she gets them from.

We know she does it out of love, but she does it all night every night and we wake up covered in socks, and find them left at the door when we come home at night...even if he goes to the bathroom she starts with the yeowling.

Aside from hiding stuff, we have also tried upping her play time in the evening, which didn't work out well because she never really figured out how to play (she's a bit on the slow side of things), and she gets lots and lots of love and snuggles.

We don't want to hurt her feelings, but it's been a year of noise and we are slowly starting to loose it.

Any suggestions?

We have 3 actually, and they all get along well enough.

Oh I should add another item to the list (because really on some level it's a little amazing that she's brought all this stuff).  A pair of pj pants.  Apparently it was absolutely ridiculous to watch, but she managed to do it by dragging them between her legs and tripping over herself all the way down the hall.

Yuki has brought me also t-shirts and PJ pants. All I need is underware and she has brought me an entire outfit.
As Sylorna has stated. She gets tons of affection. I have tried not giving her, her whole fill of love and that makes it worse with the constant howling. During the day she doesn't care as much, but once the sun starts to set its this overload of hunting and announcing her kill. It's funny while writing this, until night comes and your trying to sleep and every 30 mins to an hour there she goes again.

I unfortunately have no good suggestions but I would have loved to see that!  Too cute.  But as @MnM  says, it's cute  to an outsider, probably not so much living with it!

detmut:  Aside from Mr Kerplunq being a very sad purr paw because he would be lacking kitten snuggles, it would not stop the howling.  Also, the other two cats howl at the door...one of whom paws obsessively and the other one gets fed up and throws himself against the door until it busts open.

I think it may be a kitty conspiracy.

I think you've hit the nail on the head!

I'm afraid you're not getting a lot of help, but you're certainly conjuring up fun pussycat images for everyone...

I'm wondering whether something as simple as Feliway may settle her?

Love the pictures!! Seriously--this would make an adorable episode of Jackson Galaxy's show. And at least your cat brings you stuff...my cat has taken to yeowling if I don't go to bed the second I come home from work (I work odd hours). As for the socks, Robin used to hide all my wool socks in a big pile under the bed. He doesn't do that, or show me much affection except in bed anymore(rolls eyes at that part lol). Your cat is adorable as heck, I love her purrs-onality!!!!!

I'm afraid I don't have any idea on what to suggest for you to do.. But I am writing to say that I admire the kindness of your souls, which is obvious in the way you talk about Yuki.. Other people would talk about this in anger or frustration (which would be totally understandable).. You guys seem to have fun with the situation as well! Of course it is exhausting if it happens every freakin' night. But it's obvious you love her too much to be angry at her. She is really lucky to have you and you both are lucky to have each other.. I've seen couples break up over milder things than this..

I hope you find a solution that fits you
