Hello Everyone!!

From the time we got our Romeo 7 months ago (he's now 4), till just a few weeks ago, he never did the kneading thing, with his front paws, ever.  I always wondered why he didn't, he just never did.  I thought maybe it's because, being a pure bred and the breeder kept him with his mother till he was 3 months old, might be one reason, not sure.  But, starting about a month or so back, late at night when I go to bed and get under my covers, he gets on my bed and not only starts the kneading thing with his front paws, but will actually straddle my leg relentlessly and cry, as if he's in pain!
He actually looks distressed and if I try to stop him and move him over, he cries louder!
The first few times he did it, I panicked, thinking something was badly wrong and he was hurt....BUT, during the day he doesn't do anything like that and runs & plays like crazy...so, I know he's not "hurt".  It's now becoming a chronic thing with him when I go to bed and it seems to go on & on until I finally have to pick him up and put him on the floor because I can't go to sleep.
Is anyone out there familiar with this behavior from a cat??  It almost seems like he's wanting to mate (sounds weird, but true)...is that possible for a neutered male to do that and how do I get him to NOT do that???

It does sound like humping (and, yes, neutered cats do it too), but since it's new behavior and he howls as if in pain, I would recommend getting him in to see the vet for a checkup. He might be having some urinary tract troubles or something like that.

Oh, wow, I didn't realize a neutered cat would do that too and I will get him to the Vet ASAP...that really concerns me!  The only weird thing is, he only does it at night when I go to bed and during the day he seems fine and doesn't have urination accidents anywhere in the house.  Do you happen to know what test a Vet will do to find out?
