Hello,

I have three stray cats that I feed living on my back porch, one is friendly, one semi-friendly and one can not be touched or handled at all.

My question is, can I spay and neuter them? I don't have a lot of money but I know this could turn into a disaster if they continue to breed. Is there anyway to have it done for free so I can re-release them? Does anyone know how "catch and release" works?

Thanks!

The catch and release works like this you trap them, get them fixed and release them back to a familar place (never release to a non-familar place)

Thanks! Does their behavior change as a result of getting fixed or does it remain the same?

yes, their behavior changes for the better. where i live there is a program to fix feral cats for free and $10 for friendly cats. check with your local spca, humane society, or shelter. there is low-cost spay/neuter in your area.

after the cats are fixed and vaccinated, you would provide food and shelter.

Thanks for the info. I made some calls and found some cheap clinics. Thanks again!
