The title pretty much sums it up: I've got an awkward flower bed.
Moved into this home a year and a half ago, and I didn't give too much thought to this flower bed at the time. But this year I've got plans.
Before I commence with those plans, I just want to know...can anything be done for this flower bed shape?
(Pardon the camera focus and random experimental plants).
Don't know what the previous owners were thinking/planting, as the yard was completely barren of plants when we moved in. Have to admit that I was kind of happy about this; clean slate and all.
The bed wraps around a retaining wall, and slopes downwards to the left side, which I suppose contributes to the challenge.
Anyone have any thoughts as to how I could clean up the shape?
Should I just clean up the lines, like this?
So far I have intentions of planting 3 larger shrubs on the sloping side, and placing a bird bath on the right side (retaining wall side), and planting around it. The boys like to birdwatch from the window.
