I'm having a slow start to my morning here; coming up with a question feels like work!!

Did you play board games as a kid?  What was your favorite?  How about as an adult?

I've always loved the game Life!  Monopoly, Trouble and Operation were always fun too.  My DD came home from my parent's house with a new Operation game this weekend but we havne't played yet.  She has a game called French Toast that she loves and it's simple enough that even the 2 year old plays with us.  We also play Chutes and Ladders a lot.

As an adult I still like Life and Monopoly.  Scrabble is also fun!

I loved board games when I was younger. though I never got to play it too often. My family never liked them and only a few friends liked them. Those that did, we'd usually play Life, Monopoly and Scrabble.

I am planning a game night one of these days with my friends.. planning on Pictionary, Trivia Pursuit and few others that should be fun

I played them, but never really enjoyed them.  I don't have a big competitive streak.  I was also a sore loser at times.  I mostly remember playing Monopoly (which wasn't too bad), Clue (sort of more enjoyable), Operation (ok, that one I liked because it was more about skill) and Mousetrap!  Chutes and Ladders when really young also.

I still don't really enjoy games.  The only one I do play is Backgammon, which isn't exactly a board game per se.  I am, fairly good at it.  I'd be hard pressed to join in and play anything else.  Yea, I'm the party pooper

Geesh that was a long time ago, being a kid I mean.  I do remember Mr. Potato Head, Candyland and Monopoly.  There were others that I just can't remember.  Oh yeah card games were Old Maid and others I just don't recall.

We played all the standard kid games.  I was happy when I got old enough to play Risk.  Later on I graduated to Supremacy - a high octane risk with a stock market.  Now as an adult my husband I get together with friends for game nights at least once a month.  Our favorite games are: Ticket to Ride (aka Rail Baron) you buy rail lines and run trains.  It's a little like monopoly- if you have to take someone else's rail line you need to pay them, but there is a lot more strategy than in monopoly.  It is a lot of fun even for me despite the fact I have no interest in trains or maps.  We also play Carcassone- a tile placement game that is pretty addictive.  I got it when I asked the worker at a game store what he'd recommend as something that is easy to learn while slightly inebriated because we knew there was going to be drinking that night.  The game ended up being such a hit that my family members- even the nongamers- have bought the app version of the game for their devices.  We also play Arkham Horror which is based on H.P. Lovecraft.  It's a fun game but very complicated with a lot of pieces and set up time required.

When we are short on time we play the card games Flux and Gloom.

I'm going to look that one up.  My Step-dad is a Dominoes fan so that might be something good for him.  He's hard to buy for; so I'm always looking for ideas!

When I was a kid we had dinner at my Grandparent's house every Sunday.  After dinner was cleaned up the men would go to the basement to watch whatever sport was in season.  My Mom and Aunt would nap; and my cousins, Gram and I would play board or card games.  I miss those days SO much!  Rummikub was a favorite back then.

I'm looking forward to my kids being old enough for Clue!  The more I think about this; the more games I'm remembering!

We used to play a game called Chinese Checkers. It was a star shaped board with different coloured marbles and you had to move all your marbles into your opponent's triangle before they moved theirs into yours. I was the unbeaten champion for the whole summer vacation one year.

Monopoly!! The summer between 5th and 6th grade, a family moved in down the street from us. The older boy was two years older than me and we were both Monopoly hounds. That entire summer, we did nothing but play Monopoly in our carport. He would come over around 6:30 in the morning and call me from outside through our open bedroom window. I'd drag my butt out of bed and wash up while he was setting up the game on the picnic table. I remember we played late into the evening...we had to turn the lights on in the carport so we could see. We had a game going forever and had to create our own extra money. We'd put two hotels on properties and figure out the extra rents. We spent that entire summer in the carport playing Monopoly. There was a lot of yelling going on, too, from both of us. I know one night Mom came outside and said that if we didn't stop yelling, she was going to take the game away.

I've always loved Scrabble, too. Rick and I still play, although not as often. We play for blood, so it's really not all that pretty. I've been known to dump the board in a fit when Rick uses all his letters on a triple word tile. Our son and I played a lot of Risk and a lot of electronic Battleship.

The grandchildren and I will play a lot of Candyland and Mr. Wiggley. They have Scrabble for Juniors and we'll play that.....I am on my best behavior when playing with the grands.

This past winter, Rick and I started playing The Logo Game again. It's harder than you might think.

I played chinese checkers when I was a kid, too. We loved it.

We also played Sorry, Monopoly, Connect 4 and Battleship. When I got older it was Jenga that we turned into a drinking game.

When DH and I were first dating, we used to play cards a lot- rummy 500.
