Woke up this morning to feed the 2 beasts (bbcat & Adam west) & found a trail of bright yellow (my carpet is an off white..this stuff looked like high lighter liquid)... Urine maybe? It wasn't directly in front of one of the litter boxes, but I did see a small droplet of the same liquid about 2ft away from the box so..

I stuck a paper towel in the liquid and it smelled of literally nothing. I've got the carpet foam attacking it now.

Both cats are eating the Urinary SO because of bbcat's past episodes with crystals..and they are both related so I figured maybe Adam west could possibly go down the same road. I haven't had any problems with either of them lately--both eat 1 can a day, water is changed in the morning, 2 litter boxes available.. They also pee like champs--like huge pee clumps. Pee pee cats.
Constipation is sometimes an issue, but I mix a little pumpkin in with their wet food once a month to loosen them up.

My main concern is Adam west--he's lost a bit of weight during the last year or so. I think it's mostly due to bbcat stealing his food and bullying him (they're fed separately now). Neither cat is acting differently--no lethargy, loss of appetite, yellowing of eyes/gums, difficulty urinating, etc.
it's just strange to see either of them having an accident outside the box (and it being so far away), and it being the color it was.

The litter I use is of no help in determining anything either--my clumping litter is World's Best that has a reddish-color to it from the bag & the non-clumping is just a bunch of wood grain stuff.

Anyone have any ideas?

it might be possible that one of your cats had vomited some bile, which can be anywhere from lighter yellow colored to bright yellow colored liquid.

the 'huge pee clumps', is your vet aware of this and possibly testing occasionally to make sure neither cat is developing either diabetes or chronic kidney disease. more frequent and/or larger amounts of urine can point to diabetes or chronic kidney disease. weight loss along with larger amounts of urine can point to diabetes too. it might be worth discussing this with your vet.

I was thinking they may have thrown up--it definitely wasn't just in one spot and it wasn't a very large amount of liquid. I know their stomachs are pretty empty by the time 7am rolls around.

But I will definitely discuss the pee amounts with my vet the next time I visit. I was just thinking that since I switched them both to a wet food only diet that it was the norm.

my two cats tended to vomit just from having empty stomachs during the overnights. so i always got up during the night and gave them a 'middle of the night snack'. this seems to happen with some cats and dogs, and not others.

the larger amounts of urine may not be anything medical developing, but it's a good idea to discuss it with your vet. diabetes and chronic kidney disease are much more common than they used to be in cats, and when caught and treated starting early the cat has the possibility to live longer and with a better quality of life. my girl snick has CKD (as well as IBD, which is much more common these days too), and her brother/litter mate mickey had diabetes as well as IBD. it's been around 4 years since snick was diagnosed with 'the beginnings of kidney issues' and we started giving her sub-q fluids; snick is now at stage 2 CKD, gets fluids more often, and continues to do very well considering her medical conditions.
