Does it say where it's coming from?  Hopefully not out of the country.

It's possible they're moving operations/factories to different locations in the US as well or cutting back on operations (closing factories).

My order without the NNC is shipping from PA and will be here Wed. but because the NNC is shipping later there's no shipping info yet.   Will let you know when Chewy post it the shipping location.

I bet it's coming from Reno! I also live in New England and am waiting for NNC minced chicken and sliced turkey: chunky chicken arrived last week from PA but the other two foods are coming from Reno. They're making quite a cross-country tour, with stops in Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Ohio, and (today!) Connecticut. I'm going to see if my local store is willing to carry the foods and keep them in stock at a reasonable price!

According to my shipping info from Fed Ex it's currently in Ca.
I'm in New England so it's cross country and won't arrive until Saturday. Same as my last month order of NNC

Wow, California that's just crazy! Our box from Reno arrived today; it took a week.

Well I opened the 1 can of the newly labeled minced chicken cuisine that I bought out of caution while cleaning the shelf of all the old labeled chicken cuisines.

It looks exactly the same.  I'm pretty sure it smells exactly the same, it might smell more egg like but that could just be in my head because you guys were talking about that.  Egg product has always been in those though.  Since Petco was totally out of sliced turkey entree, I'll have to test that later.  I also buy chicken & tuna and chicken & shrimp sometimes but they didn't have any new labels of that.

Bottom line is, the chicken cuisine pretty much looks and smells the same to me and Shanoah still loves it so I don't have any problem with buying the new labeled cans.

Is Shanoah typically a picky eater?  If so, then it would appear they did NOT change their formula, just the label!  Which would be really good news for us Nutro Natural Choice feeders.

BTW, I did just take a peak on Nutro's website to see if I could find out anything about changes to their food, and it appears most of the changes were to their dog foods, adding more fiber.  I couldn't find anything that mentioned changes to cat food at all.  So I'm thinking since that made some changes they just decided to change all the labels?  Doesn't make sense to me, but maybe it has something to do with costs....if they have to change labels on dog food it's more cost effective to change them all or something?????  Who knows?

Actually she isn't a picky eater so she could of just been eating it regardless.  We'll have to wait and see for a cat owner with a picky eater to try it out.

It actually does make sense to change the labels even if they didn't change the formula.  Since they clearly did change the dog food formulas and updated the labels, they would have to update all their products, including cat food labels.  They also added new recipes to the cat food brand as well, so that's another reason.  Overall it shows organization, detail orientation, and repetition in regards to updating all the labels.

Has everybody tried the "new formula"?  I just bought more of the new labeled cans of chicken and turkey.  Believe it or not Petco still has the $10 for 10 cans deal.

I still think it smells a little more egg like so they could be using a different egg product or using more of it.  Before it smelled sort of like a BBQ.  I also noticed that each can seems like it's thicker with less liquid/broth and packed with more meat.  If there's a change in egg product (even if they added more it wouldn't move higher on the ingredient list because it would still be #5 behind the meats and broths) then I'm guessing it probably thickened it up.  It doesn't looks like they used more guar gum and/or xanthan gum because those are still really low on the ingredient list.

I purposely have NOT bought any of the new cans in the  Chunky Loaf Chicken because I have such a picky eater.  But I did buy it in the Turkey and Salmon sliced, and my other  guy went after it like there was no tomorrow
.  I couldn't visibly see any difference in that one, or smell any difference.

The Turkey & Salmon could be different from the Turkey and Chicken recipes.  Or I'm just being paranoid all together
.

It's probably worth a shot to get just get one can of the Chunky Loaf Chicken to test it on the picky eater (if you buy them in separate cans from a place like Petco).  That why you'll know if they changed it or not.

Well it turns out I was wrong.  I was getting the Minced Chicken and Sliced Turkey mixed up and thinking they had the same texture.  After checking old and new cans of both (again), there is no change in either of them.  Sliced Turkey is runnier with more gravy/liquid and has always smelled like BBQ.  Minced Chicken is more solid with less gravy and appears to be compact with more meat and does smell more eggish rather then BBQ like.

So there shouldn't be a change.

Finally got to the new cans of the Chunky Chicken and Chunky Turkey.   Both of my kitties scoffed it up as usual so thankfully, there appears no change in the forumula
