I'm on Chewy.com ready to order more Nutro Natural Choice Chunky Chicken(I usually get from Amazon but they took it off their subscribe & save program. Grrrr)  anyway,   I noticed Chewy now has 2 listings for the ingredients for this particular flavor.  It says new and old formula.    I've skimmed it and don't notice a difference in ingredients.    I'm hoping they haven't changed it because its one food my 2 love...

Old formulation:  Chicken, Chicken Broth, Chicken Liver, Pork Broth, Natural Flavors, Guar Gum, Sodium Phosphate, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols), Minerals (Calcium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide), Salt, Vitamins (Choline Chloride, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Folic Acid), Taurine

New formulation:  Chicken, Chicken Broth, Chicken Liver, Pork Broth, Natural Flavors, Guar Gum, Sodium Phosphate, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols), Minerals (Calcium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide), Salt, Vitamins (Choline Chloride, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Folic Acid), Taurine

I dont get the 2 listings when the ingredients look the same to me.  I feared they would change the ingredients.  I noticed the new labeling in pics online and Nutro was adding a few new flavors so I hope they don't make changes to a food my cats love.

Yeah, I looked at the new flavors but I'll stick to the ones my cats love.  The chicken and turkey.   I think all the egg flavors were fish, no?

If the new recipe is anything like chicken and egg I bought, no ones cat will eat it! It was hard, dry, and smelly. I retuned 10 cans.

I don't get it, either: I think this is just a label change, for a new design. The chunky chicken is on my Chewy autoship and we're already into the new case with no incidents. May it be the same for you, too! (I had your same fear about the food changing and becoming unacceptable! This is our before-bed food so it's important to human sleep that the cats eat it.)

No wonder Nutro has literally been doing a 1/2 year sale (each 3oz can for $1) on Nutro Natural Choice.  I'm guessing they're selling their old supplies to bring in the new supplies and recipes.  That sale was supposed to end a couple weeks ago but the company extended it.

I really hope they don't change any ingredients or get rid of any recipes.  Shanoah loves their chicken and turkey recipes.

Speaking of Nutro.  I hope they change Nutro Max Cat and take the wheat gluten out of it.  That food is pretty low budget and has good ingredients besides the gluten.

I'm glad you mentioned the part about selling off the old because it set off the light bulb over my head: I have the cats' Nutro on autoship from Chewy and two kinds are being shipped on the very slow boat from Reno, Nevada, to Maine. (Their food has already had stops in Colorado, Kansas City, and Ohio.) It usually comes, like the chunky chicken already did, next-day (or in two days, max) from Pennsylvania! Now I wonder if they ran out of those two Reno kinds because of the switch.

I also hope they don't change the Natural Choice recipes. As for Max Cat, your comment made me look those up again and I see the chicken and liver kitten food and chicken and lamb food both have rice and carrageenan but no gluten, though something else I checked had gluten. Some also have potato starch. In any case, I didn't realize that line has so many foods!

Same here.  Last month my order of the chunky turkey took a week longer than the other food I ordered from Chewy.

Now I'm concerned they are going to change their recipe.

That's interesting and good to know.  I thought all of them had wheat gluten in them.  I don't think Shanoah has an issue with rice because I do feed Nature's Variety Prairie in my rotation, which does have brown rice and she does fine eating it.

I do like that lines variety, some of the ingredients just bug me.

In regards to adult Nutro Max recipes (non-fish), Chicken & Lamb and Chicken & Liver appear to be pretty good if the rice and carrageenan don't bug you.

My son just picked some up for me at petsmart on sale. But said the were limited and only had a small supply on the end of the isle. I wonder if this is why. I hope they don't change it either.  My cats are very picky. I wish they would come out with bigger cans.

OMG, I agree completely.  I bought ONE can to try it, and first of all, it was so thick I had to scrape it out of the can, plus it had a very odd smell, almost spicy.  My picky eater did sample it, but just barely
.  The rest went down the garbage disposal.  I've been meaning to write a reviiew on the Nutro website.  Thanks for reminding me

Rarely do foods sound as disgusting as how you and @bonepicker describe this one!

On a lighter note I bought a can of Chicken Jumble with Liver by Earthborn Holistic which they loved. I will have to pick up a couple more cans. It has carageenan, but they love the brand. It was white meat shreds with tiny liver chunks in gravy! My cats love liver, they devour Iams Purrfect delicasies Slow Roasted Turkey & Liver in gravy also.

Mine love Earthborn.  I sometimes buy the Chicken Catcciatori.  Its just shredded chicken.  I think it has more chicken than Weruva but it does have carageenan.

I don't worry too much about carageenan, just what they like, which are just a few!

So since Petco/Nutro is still doing the $1 per 3oz can of Nutro Natural Choice, I decided to pick some up.  They were totally out of the turkey recipe so I had to settle for the chicken recipe.  I cleaned them out totally on the older labeled cans.  They had 7 left.  I was being cautious about the newly labeled cans so I only bought 1 of those in the chicken recipe (8 total) to see if there's a difference.  I'll have to see what it looks like when I open it tomorrow.  Is there really a change in their normal recipes?  I think retailers are posting old and new formulas because Nutro is basically re-branding Nutro Natural Choice with new labels and some new added recipes even if their original recipes aren't changing.

I also decided to try adult Nutro Max Chicken & Lamb and Chicken & Liver to see if Shanoah likes it.  Those appear to be the only two decent recipes for that brand with no gluten.  They only sell them in 5.5oz cans from what I could tell.  They were also on sale for $1 each when they're normally $1.10.  If she likes it then I think I'm going to add it to the rotation, it's a good budget food as well.

My autoship from Chewy is due this week.  I just received an email from Chewy stating that the Nutro Natural Choice chunky chicken I have autoshipped is shipping later than my other stuff so its definately coming from somewhere else.   This is the 2nd time an order of NNC has taken longer than it normally does.
