I want to know before adopting him, as I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a certain type.
The lady who is "rehoming" him, said that the mother was a long haired calico, and the male was a seal point persian. what I'm wondering...is if he's going to actually have a persian face and the long silky hair? or the tiger type face with wiry somewhat long hair? what do you guys think?
I PM'd wellingting already, but I wanted to know what everyone else thinks while I'm waiting for a reply. here's the pic:

If you're looking for a kitten with a flatter face (please, not completely flat or the kitten will have problems in life) check out the Cat Fancier's Association and find a reputable breeder. Please do not support backyard breeders and kitten mills.

The flat face is lost with even the first generation of outcrossing. If you want a flat-faced Persian you'll need to get a selectively bred purebred registered Persian/Himalayan. The flatness of the face doesn't change much as the kitten grows so you'll know a flat-faced kitten when you see it ;).

To everyone posting their concerns with the flat faced type, I'm aware of their health issues. Me and my s/o were prepared for that before we lost our persian, Theo. however,  I'm looking to adopt a similar doll-faced type, that has a slightly flat face without being extreme. The reason that I'm looking at alternatives to buying from a breeder- is because we lost our kitten that we purchased from a breeder to FIP, amongst other things poor guy was riddled with.

thanks for your replies, though.

Persians are one of the more common breeds to end up in shelters and rescues. You might not find a kitten, but an adult shouldn't be too hard to find. As a bonus you'd be giving a home to a cat in need.

while you are correct, Tuxedoontheloos, I've searched high and low at our shelters, and they don't have them, or they are too old. The cat that I have now, Sam, is two years old and is very dominant. In the past he swiped at my s/o's mothers cats, and his own dad. He doesn't do well with older cats. I'm not going to make my cat uncomfortable to save a shelter cat that I won't be able to keep.
