A full-term spay? How do you feel about that?

Does KC look pregnant? Is she filled with milk or still nursing her two kittens? Can you post a picture?

Cats can go up to about 70 days. Mine went 68. She looked like a butterball. And you're not positive exactly when she mated either. We were estimating. But she should be close to term now.

I am thinking same things as sarthur2 here.  Maybe also a little anxious if you have not seen any kitten movement at all though I know they can be quiet leading up to the birth.

With it now being longer than 64 days and wondering if this can harm the mother cat:  cats can go overdue in pregnancy without the same concerns held for humans, and it is safe for the kittens.  There is more concern where the mother gives birth to kiitens early as even one or two days means they are very premature.

Hope all is well.

I felt the babies move a couple of hours after I posted my last comment. She is deffinetly prrgnant. It is like they are playin soccer! She has been super loving and it seems like she is trying to find places to give birth. It seems like it will be soon. Thanks, it just worried me because it has been so. The second week she was in heat we had her locked up and my brother finally stopped letting her out so I knkw the last time she was with a male. She has recently started attacking all of the cats and dogs. She even try to attack her two kittens from the her previous litter. She loves human attention, hut I think until she gives birth she needs to be away from all other animals. Her other kittens do not nurse, I have not been letting them in case she was pregnant. She doesn't want them to nurse but they would chase her until she finally gave up.

at this point I cannot spay her. I was hoping that I would be able to go through with it, but then I felt them move. She will get fixed after she has this litter. She is going to get fixed with the litter she is going to have. That way when I rehome the kittens no one will be getting pregnant.

Hello! I am glad that you finally felt the babies move. It's an exciting moment and definitely confirms the pregnancy!

I am also pleased that KC will not have to endure an almost full-term spay/abortion.

KC is becoming territorial in an effort to defend her "territory" and to protect her unborn babies. This is perfectly normal behavior in pregnant cats, and your decision to separate her from her kittens and other pets is a sound one at that!

I believe we calculated her due date earlier in this thread to be just about any day now! Is she beginning to show interest in her nesting area or to groom herself excessively?

I will keep you all updated. I wasn't sure if I was making the right choice. Is it bad for her to be spayed now? I mean she isn't getting spayed, but I would love to know. It was just really weird because she was grooming her kittens and then an hour later se was hissing at them. She has deffinetly been showing nesting signs. I have a box set up for her and a laundry basket, though as soon as I find another box big enough the laundry basket is being taken away. We did, I was worried because I wasn't sure if it was safe for her to carry the kittens past a ceartin time, but you guys helped me with that issue. She is trying her hardest to get outside, though of course she is not allowed. She will groom herself a lot, but not all of the time. She will groom herself and then do it twice more, but she doesn't do that all day long though she does do it every day. Excersie can induce labor if she is ready right? But it won't harm her if she isn't ready?

Exercise around the house is fine, though most pregnant cats prefer to sleep a lot in late pregnancy. You can't force Mother Nature's schedule, so try to relax and let things run their course.

Can you keep her in your room with her food, water, and litter, and nesting area? Her wanting to go outside right now is to seek a quiet, private place away from everyone and everything in which to nest and have her kittens. So if you can provide that in your room she may be able to relax more and not delay labor when it does begin.

Some of our members have found in doing rescue work that late term spays cause cats to become severely depressed, to the point they stopped performing the late term spays.

Similar to when a cat who is primed hormonally for motherhood and nursing births stillborns and becomes very depressed and cries, but is then given a litter of orphans to nurse and raise, and immediately perks up!

A late term spay and losing a litter are both hard on a cat in many ways, so you've made a proper decision.

I really should relax. I can see the babies moving now as I type this. They are a rowdy bunch. I think she has 4 or 5 in their. She is locked up in my room.she sits on the window sill and just looks so sad. She keeps sitting on my chest so I will pet her. She loves to sleep, but if I start to play with her she is all for it. Well I am glad I talked my mother out of spaying her now then. At least she will not be getting pregnant again though. My boys are getting fixed with her previous litter so they cannot get her pregnant again.

The spaying and neutering of your other cats is great news to hear!

And I am glad that your mom listened to your concerns :).

I know KC looks sad, but I guarantee that she feels much safer and more relaxed in your room, rather than being constantly on the alert.

Do relax, she's given birth successfully before. She'll probably let you know when she starts labor :).

I am happy they are finally getting fixed. They are not quiet a year yet, but almost. She keeps coming to me meowing so I pet her, then she will lay down and clean herself, then she wI'll come to me, then look out the window, and then come to me again. She has been doing this for two hours now. I just want to be the re e with her in xase something goes wrong, though I know there is a slim chance of that.

If you need to do other things, she will be fine in your room. You can check on her every so often. It really is any day now, but always seems to take forever when we sit there waiting on it!

I do not have to do anything right now, I know she will be fine, but I hate to have her locked up alone so I spend ad much time as I can with her. It does! But it is awesome to see the babies moving and it is an amazing process to watch. I want to be a vet one day, so hopefully in the future I will be able to help other animals give birth. Thanks for all of the advice, I will keep you all up dated.

As mad as I am that she got pregnant again and so soon after having the last litter, and as mad as I am that now cats in shelters may not find a home because we will rehome these babies, I am super excited to have kittens again. I love having kittens, I love teaching kittens to play and to eat wet food. I wish I could keep the kittens that she is going to have, though if she has more than 1 (I think she has 4 or 5) then I will not be able to. I can't wait until they are old enough to be fixed. I also cannot wait until she has them.

Thank you. Umm I think it should be soon. She is looking for a place to have her babies and they kick like crazy! If I place my hand on her stomach I can fell them kicking and I can feel the babies themselves. They have moved down. If I place my hand under her I can feel them kicking.
