Hi! I had posted last month about my pregnant cat, wondering how far along she was. She had all the symptoms of being pregnant and she looked pregnant. Her stomach was hard and I had felt a lump. I'm not sure exactly what this "lump" is but it was hard and moved in different places. (Which I felt April 1st). Now, she feels soft and isn't nesting or anything. It's like she was never pregnant. Is she still or did something happen? I heard about kittens re-absorbing but I'm unsure. She didn't have a miscarriage because I've kept a close eye on her. I can understand if it's a false pregnancy, but then why did it feel like a kitten was I her? Thank you in advance.
How long was the pregnancy at THAT time?

My guess is it was a false pregnancy.  They may be very difficult to know, if you arent an expert.  I know of decently experienced cat owners whom become "cheated".

The alternative is the kittens got absorbed.

So time to go to your vet, get her checked up, and leave her for spaying, if everything is OK.

How long does a false pregnancy last? Also, I've had her since Mar.20th, but she hasn't gone into heat. This is all very confusing. I also don't want to take her in to get fixed until i am 100% sure she isn't pregnant, but she has no access to unfixed males.

Also, do they get morning sickness with a false pregancy? Because i recall around the second or third week of having her, she would throw up her food early in the morning. just curious:)

I think they can, the hormones going around as for real.   As said, even decently experienced cat people can be "cheated"

Ps, dont worry, the vet will surely check her up before the spaying. If she after all happens to have alive kittens, he will discover this, no doubt.

They arent automatos -  and unless she normally regularly comes into heat, its no sure thing.  Some go into heat regularly like a watch every third week, some a couple of times in a year.   Or someting in between.   There is no the same "moon circle"  as with human women.

Also, not even heat is strictly speaking really necessary.  Cats are inductive ovulators, meaning, if they are mated, they release eggs and may be conceived when the eggs meet te sperma.

But without heat the female isnt interested in mating, and the male isnt as interested as when she is in heat.  But it  happens he is....

I just now took this picture. It's hard to tell, but all of her is skinny except her abdomen.

This is also her abdomen. She has lost hair around her nipples.

She could have just been in the very early stages of pregnancy but you wouldn't have been able to feel them move. If she is pregnant you will be ableto tell when she is standing up and walking because she will be very wide. Of you are still not sure I would get a part check up set up.

She hates being held, but I tried, he does look wide when she walks around, but my parents are convinced that she is just over weight.

UPDATE!!!!!

Well, this was quite the mind bottling experience. We took Mynx to the vet on Monday, he told us that it was simply a false pregnancy and that she is in great health. Today was her spay day! Two hours after dropping Mynx off, the vet said that she has already been spayed. This was a total shock! He said "she has a very significant scar". I wanted to just thank everyone that helped! I will definitely be using this website in the future :)
