I acquired a beautiful cat around March 20th. Since we fell in love with her, we decided to keep her. We had an appointment to get her fixed April 2nd, but the night before.. i felt a kitten. Now, its a waiting game! She has been spending a lot of time in her nesting box, but hasn't been scratching around or anything of the sort. I read a bunch of threads on this website and have read almost every article on the internet on cat pregnancy/birth. She has been grooming herself a lot lately and has recently(yesterday) has been a little distant. Yesterday i was petting her and she lightly bit me, so since then, i have left her alone. She will occasionally come out of her box and lay next to me. However, last night she was pacing from room to room in the house and went several times in her litter box. This morning she did the same but now is back to sleeping in her box. I'm very confused, but i just thought i would come on here and ask if anyone can help me out? All help will be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: I understand the importance of spaying and neutering. All my animals are fixed, and we have even taken in stray cats to get fix. Once her kittens are in good homes, she will be getting fixed. No, she wont be aloud outside until she is fixed.

Also, her stomach has appeared to have "dropped"

I've read the links about how to know when she is going into labor. But she is still eating and i hadn't seen any discharge. She is also a long haired cat, so its hard to see exactly what going on. Also, does nearing mean shes near labor or near the end of her pregnancy? Sorry for having so many questions i just really want to be prepared. This i my first and final litter.

Nearing means she close to labor/going to have them soon but as you already know it a waiting game, just gotta to be patient

It sounds she is nearing,

Ask away, we want to help you and provide as much knowledge as we can

Thank you so much for your help! I have another question. She was always okay with me touching her stomach, but last night she lightly bit me when i touched it. Does that mean shes having contractions or is it just because she is uncomfortable? Also, should she have them with in a week? She is still drinking and eating like normal.

Touching the tummy, i have no idea, someone will answer that though

By everything you said, i would say she should have them within a week or so.

Do you have any more cats? What do you got?

If she not close or best friend wirh any those animals, i would keep them out when she having them. Also you may see her attacking your dogs, maybe even the other cats esp if they are not close, it just her mother instincts kicking in, it nothing to worry about.

If she not in distressed she should be fine, so watch for signs of being distressed

Do you have any questions about socializing?

Not any that i can think of at the moment. However, she is in my room with the door shut. The other cats have no way of accessing her(they stay outside most of the day anyway). However when I found her, she was with my other cats. She hated all of them except the unfixed male. Im thinking maybe he is the father?

If she not close to any of them, it best to keep them out

Yeah if she haven't been outside and he the only unfixed male in the house he is most likely the father

Usually they will have them not too long after

Around 2-3 weeks you can start socializing them but at first keep it short around 5-15 minutes, as they get older you can socialized with them longer, expose to everything, just don't scared them to death, hairdryer, washer machine, dryer, tv, people, pets, everything you can think of

She looks quite small. I figure he is having a small liter, but she looks smaller than she did two days ago. Is that part of her "Dropped" stomach?

Yeah, when they dropped she will look smaller and you won't be able to feel the kittens as clearly

Since you found her outside just recently and pregnancy takes around 65 days it unlikely your male is the father unless you let him outside then he could be the father or one of the fathers

Ive had her since around March 20th. However, the male that im referring to is an outdoor neighborhood tom. Also, that does make actually a lot of sense. I haven't been able to feel them(of course i dont really try and search for them because im afraid it will hurt the babies.

Ok, then it is possible he is the father or one of them

Any more questions?
