We have some allerg-3 omega 3 oil and Mikki walks away from her food if we put even the tiniest drop in it grrrrr
She has some skin scabs that she licks open...usually about 2 of them at a time...then they heal..then another may pop up. I'm beginning to think it may be just dry skin here in Arizona.
Anyway....would there be anything wrong with rubbing the oil into her fur/skin? I guess the only concern I'd really have is if it drives her crazy that her coat is a tad oily from it...she immediately cleaned herself which is good as it got the oil ingested.

Have you tried rubbing coconut oil on her fur and the sores? I used to do this for my dog who always had skin problems, she had dry flaky skin and would get hot spots all the time.

My cat loves coconut oil, I give her a little on my finger and sometimes rub some on my hands and then rub it through her fur.....anyway just a thought.

I definitely could try that. She gets coconut oil every day... she loves it. Thanks.

thank you... we've tried all kinds of things... she had one spot biopsied but nothing showed up... we did a food trial thing but possibly not long enough..we did it for 2 months and nothing changed so we gave up. She's had a couple flea treatments...although she's indoors only and I haven't seen any signs..

funny though..hubby gave her the gel of his fish oil vitamin and it stawberry flavored... and she ate it better than some others lol, but then I tried to buy one just for pets...and nothing doing... she may eat it a couple times..but then disses it.

right now she's recooperating from having a sarcoma lump removed from her leg so we'll wait to see if that grows back before stressing her out with a diet change or more doctor visits for now...

Be careful with fish oil supplement for Humans, particularly the gels - they may contain xylitol (a common sweetener found in a lot of Human foods and even toothpaste) that is toxic to cats.
