My Bandit went to the vet to have his teeth cleaned this am. Vet thought his breathing was strange and wanted to do chest X-ray first. Bandit went into cardiac arrest and was gone by the time we got back to the vet. He seemed fine this am. Just so shocking, tomorrow would have been his 11 birthday.

Oh, no.  I'm so sorry.  These things are never easy but it's even harder when it's so unexpected.  My thoughts are with you.

This is just awful!

I am so sorry for your loss.  I am not blaming your vet; sometimes things turn out bad & no one saw it coming.  I know you must be in a lot of shock right now.  When you feel like it post & tell us all about Bandit & your  life together.  It helps to talk & express your grief.  Rest assured that he is just fine on the other side & knew you were doing the best for him.  It is us who are left behind in our sorrow.

I am very sorry to hear about Bandit. Although it must be a terrible shock to lose Bandit so unexpectedly, at least he had a great life with you and he apparently didn't suffer. Be thankful for the too-short time you had together and remember that you'll be seeing Bandit when it's time. He'll be happy and healthy and waiting for you to join him.

I wish you all peace and wonderful memories.

Best regards,

I'm so sorry for that horrible loss, please accept my condolences. When tragedy strikes so quickly it seems doubly hard to take, and for a loved one to die without warning is a blow to the soul. I know how empty the house feels now, I would not wish this pain on anyone. My heart goes out to you, you need to surround yourself with people who understand your pain, we'll do what we can to comfort you. Sweet Bandit will comfort you from afar, you gave him 11 wonderful years of love and happiness, all he ever wanted. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, take care and be gentle on yourself, you had absolutely no idea that something like this could happen. RIP sweet Bandit, you were greatly loved and will never be forgotten!

Thanks everyone. We just got home w his ashes. He was a wonderful cat. And many times I have said no matter what I would never give him and his sister Smokey up. They were a true bonded pair and I loved their interactions, and his relationship w me...kissies...make pretties...he'd be there. Not really a lap cat, but loving just the same. 15lb Himalayan type cat. As much as I said we had the perfect pet family, guess all great things come to an end. Smokey is really hurting, she's got arthritis and isn't very active, but w/o her buddy is lost. We are (can't believe it) looking for a cuddle mate for Smokey. I talked to the vet clinic today several times. We've lost 5 pets to euthanasia and have commented so many times...wish they would go to sleep and not wake up. You know that pets time is limited and you keep holding on. With Bandit it was such a shock.."well buddy" and then gone. I honestly don't know what hurts more. Vet was going to do X-ray to check out heart and Bandit went into arrest before they got that far. I never saw any indication of problems. He'd been in for sr exam in March, all blood test came back good. He'd lost a little weight, but I was trying to get him down a bit. Picked at his food but had IBD and that wasn't anything new. So that's our story, besides our hurting to see another animal depressed as Smokey is makes his death even worse. Thanks for listening
