Today a pregnant cat came to my dorr and was very affectionate. She could give birth any day this week. I have spent too much on strays and am low on cash. I don't have time to drive almost 3 hours to a no kill shelter. I have no experience in cat birth and my cats don't get along with her. How should I prepare for her kittens ? And what should I do to make her feel comfortable?

Make a room just for her

Start off by making couple of nesting boxes and place them in the room, if the room have a closest put one there and the others someplace else in the room

Also give her a food and water dish of her own and her own litter box. You are so kind and thoughtful to take this mama kitty at this time when you yourself are low on resources. Bless you!

Unless she gets into distress the mama can handle the birth herself, with just you for comfort if you please. Have a vet's number on hand just in case of emergency. And I wouldn't let het back outside at all now. Have some clean towels to replace the ones that get messy with birth. @stefanZ can give you the links to read for care. But have a scissor and dental floss handy in case you need to help cut and tie an umbilical cord. And try to feed the mom kitten chow for high protein along with wet food. Soon an expert on our site will add more for you. Welcome!

Make sure the scissors are dull. If she wants you there then be there if she don't just be nearby and keep checking on her

She is beautiful! Your cat will not like the newcomer, but will likely get used to her over time. However, for now I would keep them separate so as not to stress the pregnant cat.
